Psalm 101 | New International Version

Of David. A psalm.

1 I will sing of your love and justice; to you, Lord, I will sing praise.

2 I will be careful to lead a blameless life – when will you come to me? I will conduct the affairs of my house with a blameless heart.

3 I will not look with approval on anything that is vile. I hate what faithless people do; I will have no part in it.

4 The perverse of heart shall be far from me; I will have nothing to do with what is evil.

5 Whoever slanders their neighbour in secret, I will put to silence; whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart, I will not tolerate.

6 My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; the one whose way of life is blameless will minister to me.

7 No-one who practises deceit will dwell in my house; no-one who speaks falsely will stand in my presence.

8 Every morning I will put to silence all the wicked in the land; I will cut off every evildoer from the city of the Lord.

Wie der König regieren will

1 Ein Lied von David. Von Gnade und Recht will ich singen; dich, HERR, will ich mit meinem Lied preisen.

2 Ich möchte aufrichtig und weise regieren – komm und hilf mir doch dabei! An meinem Hof soll nur geschehen, was ich vor dir verantworten kann.

3 Auf gottlose Vorhaben lasse ich mich niemals ein. Ich hasse es, wenn Menschen deine Gebote missachten. Mir selbst soll das niemand nachsagen können!

4 Ich dulde bei mir keinen Heuchler, mit Bösem will ich nichts zu tun haben.

5 Wer seinen Mitmenschen heimlich verleumdet, den will ich zum Schweigen bringen. Aus meiner Nähe verbanne ich alle, die hochmütig auf andere herabsehen.

6 Wer aber glaubwürdig und zuverlässig ist, nach dem halte ich Ausschau. Solche Leute hole ich mir an den Hof, Menschen mit einem guten Ruf nehme ich in meinen Dienst.

7 Betrüger und Lügner aber haben nichts in meinem Palast zu suchen – sie sollen mir nicht unter die Augen kommen!

8 Jeden Morgen halte ich Gericht über die Verbrecher im Land. Denn für Leute, die Unheil stiften, ist kein Platz in der Stadt des HERRN. Ich mache ihrem Treiben ein Ende!
