1 Hasten, O God, to save me; come quickly, Lord, to help me. 2 May those who want to take my life be put to shame and confusion; may all who desire my ruin be turned back in disgrace. 3 May those who say to me, ‘Aha! Aha!’ turn back because of their shame. 4 But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who long for your saving help always say, ‘The Lord is great!’ 5 But as for me, I am poor and needy; come quickly to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer; Lord, do not delay.

1 Ein Lied Davids, um sich bei Gott in Erinnerung zu bringen. 2 Gott, rette mich, komm, hilf mir bald! 3 Schimpf und Schande komme über sie, die mir nach dem Leben trachten! Zurückweichen sollen sie und zuschanden werden, die an meinem Unglück Freude haben! 4 Mit Schande beladen sollen sie abziehen, die hämisch rufen: »Da! Habt ihr’s gesehen?« 5 Doch alle, die deine Nähe suchen, sollen über dich jubeln und glücklich sein! Alle, die deine Hilfe begehren, sollen immer wieder rufen: »Gott ist groß!« 6 Ich bin arm und wehrlos; Gott, komm bald zu mir! Du bist mein Helfer und Befreier, HERR, lass mich nicht länger warten!
