Psalm 47 | New International Version

For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm.

1 Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy. 2 For the Lord Most High is awesome, the great King over all the earth. 3 He subdued nations under us, peoples under our feet. 4 He chose our inheritance for us, the pride of Jacob, whom he loved.* 5 God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the Lord amid the sounding of trumpets. 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises. 7 For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise. 8 God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne. 9 The nobles of the nations assemble as the people of the God of Abraham, for the kings* of the earth belong to God; he is greatly exalted.

1 Ein Lied der Korachiter. 2 Ihr Völker alle, klatscht in die Hände, begrüßt unseren Gott mit Freudengeschrei! 3 Der HERR ist der Höchste, vor ihm erschrickt alles, er, der große König, regiert die ganze Erde. 4 Er hat uns die anderen Völker unterworfen und Nationen in unsere Gewalt gebracht. 5 Das Land, das wir besitzen, unser ganzer Stolz – er selbst hat es für uns ausgewählt, denn er liebt die Nachkommen Jakobs. 6 Gott ist zu seinem Thron hinaufgestiegen, unter Jubelrufen und Hörnerschall nimmt er ihn ein. 7 Singt und spielt zu Gottes Ehre! Singt und spielt zur Ehre unseres Königs! 8 Denn Gott ist der König der ganzen Erde; preist ihn mit eurem schönsten Lied! 9 Gott herrscht über alle Völker; er sitzt auf seinem heiligen Thron. 10 Die Großen der Völker kommen herbei, sie versammeln sich mit dem Volk, das dem Gott Abrahams gehört.* Ihm unterwerfen sich die Mächtigen der Erde, denn er steht hoch über ihnen allen.
