Psalm 149 | New International Version

1 Praise the Lord.* Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of his faithful people.

2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King.

3 Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with tambourine and harp.

4 For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.

5 Let his faithful people rejoice in this honour and sing for joy on their beds.

6 May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands,

7 to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,

8 to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron,

9 to carry out the sentence written against them – this is the glory of all his faithful people. Praise the Lord.

Le Seigneur aime son peuple

1 Louez l’Eternel! Chantez pour l’Eternel ╵un cantique nouveau! Célébrez ses louanges ╵dans l’assemblée ╵de ceux qui lui sont attachés!

2 Exulte de joie, Israël: ╵c’est lui qui t’a formé! Que les fils de Sion éclatent d’allégresse ╵à cause de leur roi!

3 Qu’ils le louent en dansant, qu’ils le célèbrent ╵avec le tambourin ╵et au son de la lyre!

4 Car l’Eternel ╵prend plaisir en son peuple, et il accorde aux humbles ╵le salut pour parure.

5 Que ceux qui lui sont attachés ╵exultent de fierté, qu’ils crient de joie ╵quand ils sont sur leur couche,

6 que leur louange ╵retentisse pour Dieu. Qu’ils tiennent aussi dans leurs mains ╵l’épée à deux tranchants

7 pour punir les nations et pour châtier les peuples.

8 Ils chargeront leurs rois de chaînes et ils mettront aux fers ╵leurs dignitaires

9 pour accomplir sur eux ╵le jugement prescrit. C’est l’honneur qui revient ╵à tous ceux qui sont attachés à Dieu. Louez l’Eternel!
