1‘Come, all you who are thirsty. Come and drink the water I offer to you. You who do not have any money, come. Buy and eat the corn I give you. Come and buy wine and milk. 1»Her, wer Durst hat! Hier gibt es Wasser! Auch wer kein Geld hat, kann kommen! Kauft euch zu essen! Es kostet nichts! Kommt, Leute, kauft Wein und Milch! Zahlen braucht ihr nicht!2Warum gebt ihr euer Geld aus für Brot, das nichts taugt, und euren sauer verdienten Lohn für Nahrung, die nicht satt macht? Hört doch auf mich, dann habt ihr es gut und könnt euch an den erlesensten Speisen satt essen!3Hört doch, kommt zu mir! Hört auf mich, dann werdet ihr leben! Ich will mit euch einen unauflöslichen Bund schließen. Die Zusagen, die ich David gegeben habe, sind nicht ungültig geworden: An euch werde ich sie erfüllen.4Ihn habe ich einst zum Herrscher über viele Völker gemacht, damit sie durch ihn meine Macht erkennen.5Auch durch euch sollen jetzt fremde Völker mich kennenlernen: Ihr werdet Völker rufen, die ihr nicht kennt; und Völker, die euch nicht kennen, werden begierig zu euch kommen, wenn sie sehen, was ich an euch tue. Kann Gott seine Zusage wahr machen?
6Sucht den HERRN, jetzt ist er zu finden! Ruft ihn, jetzt ist er nahe!7Wer seine eigenen Wege gegangen ist und sich gegen den HERRN aufgelehnt hat, der lasse von seinen bösen Gedanken und kehre um zum HERRN, damit er ihm vergibt! Denn unser Gott ist reich an Güte und Erbarmen.8»Meine Gedanken – sagt der HERR – sind nicht zu messen an euren Gedanken und meine Möglichkeiten nicht an euren Möglichkeiten.9So hoch der Himmel über der Erde ist, so weit reichen meine Gedanken hinaus über alles, was ihr euch ausdenkt, und so weit übertreffen meine Möglichkeiten alles, was ihr für möglich haltet.10Wenn Regen oder Schnee vom Himmel fällt, kehrt er nicht wieder dorthin zurück, ohne dass er etwas bewirkt: Er durchfeuchtet die Erde und macht sie fruchtbar, sodass sie Korn für das tägliche Brot hervorbringt und Saatgut für eine neue Ernte.11Genauso ist es mit dem Wort, das ich spreche: Es kehrt nicht unverrichteter Dinge zu mir zurück, sondern bewirkt, was ich will, und führt aus, was ich ihm auftrage.«
Der Jubel des befreiten Volkes
12Unter Jubel werdet ihr den Weg in die Freiheit antreten, mit sicherem Geleit werdet ihr heimkehren. Berge und Hügel werden in ein Freudengeschrei ausbrechen, wenn sie euch sehen, und die Bäume der Steppe werden in die Hände klatschen.13Wo ihr durchzieht, wachsen statt Dornbüschen Zypressen und statt Brennnesseln Myrten. Dies alles geschieht, damit der HERR gerühmt und gepriesen wird. Er setzt sich damit ein Denkmal, das alle Zeiten überdauert.
