1The LORD has built his city on the holy mountain.2He loves the city of Zion more than all the other places where the people of Jacob live.3City of God, the LORD says glorious things about you.4He says, ‘I will include Egypt and Babylon in a list of nations who recognise me as king. I will also include Philistia and Tyre, along with Cush. I will say about them, “They were born in Zion.” ’5Certainly it will be said about Zion, ‘This nation and that nation were born in it. The Most High God himself will make it secure.’6Here is what the LORD will write in his list of the nations. ‘Each of them was born in Zion.’7As they make music they will sing, ‘Zion, all our blessings come from you.’

1Högt på sitt heliga berg har Gud byggt Jerusalem, den stad han älskar mer än någon annan!3Du Guds stad, hur mycket underbart får man inte höra om dig, för Herren säger:4"I Egypten och Babylonien finns det människor som känner mig, och också bland filisteerna och i Tyrus och Etiopien ber man till mig."5Men en dag ska man säga om Jerusalem: "Alla innevånare känner Gud!" Ja, Gud, den högste har grundat denna stad.6Herren ska räkna alla folk och göra upp en lista över dem, och där ska han ange vilka som är medborgare i Jerusalem.7Och vid festerna ska de dansa och sjunga: "Jerusalem är källan till alla våra välsignelser."
