1 ¡Qué grande es el SEÑOR! Cuánto debemos alabarlo en su monte santo en la ciudad de nuestro Dios. 2 Miren el monte Sion que se eleva al norte de la ciudad alzándose sobre la llanura para que todos lo vean; el monte Sion, gozo de toda la tierra, residencia del gran Rey. 3 Dios mismo es el defensor de Jerusalén. 4 Los reyes de la tierra han llegado juntos para avanzar contra la ciudad. 5 Maravillados están ante el espectáculo; están aterrados y huyen, 6 aterrorizados por lo que han visto; van llenos de pánico, como mujer acongojada por los dolores de parto, 7 como las majestuosas naves de Tarsis cuando las destruye un poderoso viento del este. 8 De la gloria de la ciudad hemos oído, pero ahora nosotros mismos la hemos visto, la ciudad de nuestro Dios Todopoderoso. Es la ciudad de nuestro Dios ¡Él la hará permanecer para siempre! 9 SEÑOR, aquí en tu templo meditamos en tu gran amor mientras te adoramos. 10 La honra a tu nombre, oh Dios, y la alabanza, a ti llega hasta los confines de la tierra; tu diestra está llena de victoria. 11 Que el pueblo en el monte Sion se regocije. Que la ciudad de Judá se alegre, porque tus juicios son justos. 12 Vayan, examinen la ciudad. Denle la vuelta y cuenten sus muchas torres. 13 Observen sus reforzados muros y recorran sus fortalezas para que puedan contarlo a las futuras generaciones. 14 Este Dios es nuestro Dios por los siglos de los siglos. Él será, nuestro guía hasta que muramos.

Zion, the City of Our God

1 A Song. A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised in the city of our God! His holy mountain, 2 beautiful in elevation, is the joy of all the earth, Mount Zion, in the far north, the city of the great King. 3 Within her citadels God has made himself known as a fortress. 4 For behold, the kings assembled; they came on together. 5 As soon as they saw it, they were astounded; they were in panic; they took to flight. 6 Trembling took hold of them there, anguish as of a woman in labor. 7 By the east wind you shattered the ships of Tarshish. 8 As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God, which God will establish forever. 9 We have thought on your steadfast love, O God, in the midst of your temple. 10 As your name, O God, so your praise reaches to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is filled with righteousness. 11 Let Mount Zion be glad! Let the daughters of Judah rejoice because of your judgments! 12 Walk about Zion, go around her, number her towers, 13 consider well her ramparts, go through her citadels, that you may tell the next generation 14 that this is God, our God forever and ever. He will guide us forever.*
