1 Yo, Pablo, apóstol de Jesucristo porque Dios así lo quiso, escribo al pueblo santo que está en Éfeso y que es fiel en Cristo Jesús. 2 Que el amor y la paz de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo reposen en ustedes.

Bendiciones espirituales en Cristo

3 Alabado sea Dios, Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que nos bendijo con toda clase de bendiciones espirituales en los cielos porque pertenecemos a Cristo. 4 Desde antes que formara el mundo, Dios nos escogió para que fuéramos suyos a través de Cristo, y resolvió hacernos santos y sin falta ante su presencia. 5 Y nos destinó de antemano, por su amor, para adoptarnos como hijos suyos, por medio de Jesucristo, debido a su buena voluntad. 6 Esto fue para que le demos la gloria a Dios por la extraordinaria gracia que nos mostró por medio de su amado Hijo. 7 Gracias a que él derramó su sangre, tenemos el perdón de nuestros pecados. Así de abundante es su gracia. 8 Además, derramó en nosotros la inmensidad de su gracia al impartirnos sabiduría y entendimiento. 9 Dios nos ha revelado el secreto que tenía guardado, el plan que hace muchísimo tiempo se había trazado en Cristo. 10 Cuando llegue el tiempo preciso, Dios reunirá todas las cosas —las que están en el cielo y en la tierra— bajo una cabeza, Cristo. 11 En virtud de lo que Cristo hizo, ahora somos herederos, porque en su plan soberano nos escogió desde el principio para ser suyos; y esto es el cumplimiento de ese plan que Dios quería llevar a cabo. 12 Lo hizo porque desea que nosotros, que fuimos los primeros en esperar al Mesías, celebremos su gloria. 13 Gracias también a lo que Cristo hizo, cuando ustedes escucharon el mensaje verdadero de las buenas noticias de salvación y creyeron en él, fueron marcados con el sello que es el Espíritu Santo que él había prometido. 14 La presencia del Espíritu Santo en nosotros es como el sello de garantía de que Dios nos dará nuestra herencia. Además, significa que Dios ya nos ha comprado y que nos salvará hasta el final. Todo esto lo hizo para que le alabemos y le demos a él la gloria.

15 Por eso, desde que me enteré de la fe que ustedes han depositado en el Señor Jesús y del amor que demuestran hacia todo el pueblo santo, 16 no he cesado de recordarlos y dar gracias a Dios por ustedes. Pido constantemente a Dios, el glorioso Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que les dé sabiduría y revelación, por medio de su Espíritu, para que lo conozcan mejor. 18 Pido también que ilumine sus corazones para que sepan cuál es la esperanza a la que los llamó y qué enorme es la riqueza de la herencia que él ha dado a los que son suyos. 19 Oro también para que comprendan el increíblemente inmenso poder con que Dios ayuda a los que creen en él. Ese poder es la fuerza grandiosa y eficaz 20 con que Dios levantó a Cristo de entre los muertos y lo sentó a su derecha en la gloria. 21 Dios puso a Cristo muy por encima de cualquier gobernante, autoridad, poder y dominio, y de cualquier otro nombre que se invoque, no sólo en este mundo sino también en el venidero. 22 Dios ha puesto todas las cosas a sus pies y lo hizo suprema cabeza de la iglesia. 23 Y la iglesia, que es su cuerpo, está llena de él, que llena también todo lo que existe.

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints who are in Ephesus, and are faithful* in Christ Jesus: 2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Spiritual Blessings in Christ

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined us* for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, 8 which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight 9 making known* to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ 10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth. 11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. 13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guarantee* of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it,* to the praise of his glory.

Thanksgiving and Prayer

15 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love* toward all the saints, 16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might 20 that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. 22 And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
