1 Como colaboradores de Dios les suplicamos que no desechen su amor. 2 Porque Dios dice: «Escuché tu clamor en tiempo favorable, y en día de salvación te socorrí». Ahora mismo es el tiempo favorable de Dios; hoy es el día de la salvación.

3 Nosotros nos comportamos siempre de tal manera que nadie se escandalice, ni critique nuestro servicio. 4 Más bien, en cada uno de nuestros actos tratamos de portarnos como servidores de Dios. Con paciencia soportamos los sufrimientos, las necesidades, las angustias. 5 Nos han azotado, encarcelado y nos hemos enfrentado a airadas multitudes; hemos trabajado hasta el agotamiento, hemos pasado noches en vela y sin comer. 6 Con la integridad de nuestras vidas, con nuestro entendimiento del evangelio y con nuestra paciencia y bondad hemos hecho nuestro servicio. El Espíritu Santo vive en nosotros y amamos con sinceridad. 7 Hemos sido veraces gracias al poder de Dios. Nuestra arma para atacar y defendernos ha sido la justicia. 8 Unas veces nos honran y otras nos desprecian; unas veces nos critican y otras veces nos ensalzan; unas veces nos tienen por mentirosos, aunque decimos la verdad. 9 Aunque todo el mundo nos conoce, nos tratan como a desconocidos; arriesgamos la vida, pero estamos vivos; nos han golpeado, pero sobrevivimos. 10 Tenemos el corazón adolorido, pero a la vez no nos falta el gozo. Parecemos pobres, pero enriquecemos a muchos; no tenemos nada, y, sin embargo, somos dueños de todo. 11 Queridos hermanos corintios, les hemos hablado con entera franqueza; les hemos abierto nuestro corazón. 12 Nosotros les amamos mucho, pero ustedes nos niegan su amor. 13 Les estoy hablando ahora como si fueran mis propios hijos. ¡Correspondan al amor que les ofrezco!

No formen yunta con los incrédulos

14 No se unan en matrimonio con los que no creen en el Señor, porque ¿qué pueden tener en común la justicia con la maldad? ¿Cómo puede la luz llevarse bien con la oscuridad? 15 Y ¿qué armonía puede haber entre Cristo y el diablo? ¿Cómo puede un creyente estar de acuerdo con un incrédulo? 16 Y ¿qué unión puede existir entre el templo de Dios y los ídolos? Porque nosotros somos el templo del Dios viviente. Como el Señor dijo: «Viviré con ellos y caminaré entre ellos, y seré su Dios y ellos serán mi pueblo». 17 Por eso el Señor añade: «Salgan de en medio de ellos, apártense; no toquen sus inmundicias, y yo los recibiré 18 y seré un Padre para ustedes, y ustedes serán mis hijos y mis hijas, dice el Señor Todopoderoso».

English Standard Version

1 Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain. 2 For he says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 3 We put no obstacle in anyone’s way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry, 4 but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities, 5 beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger; 6 by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love; 7 by truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left; 8 through honor and dishonor, through slander and praise. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true; 9 as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as punished, and yet not killed; 10 as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything. 11 We have spoken freely to you,* Corinthians; our heart is wide open. 12 You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted in your own affections. 13 In return (I speak as to children) widen your hearts also.

The Temple of the Living God

14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15 What accord has Christ with Belial?* Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you, 18 and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.”
