Jeremia 22 | Lutherbibel 2017
1 So sprach der HERR: Geh hinab in das Haus des Königs von Juda und rede dort dies Wort 2 und sprich: Höre des HERRN Wort, du König von Juda, der du auf dem Thron Davids sitzt, du und deine Großen und dein Volk, die durch diese Tore hineingehen. 3 So spricht der HERR: Schafft Recht und Gerechtigkeit und errettet den Beraubten von des Frevlers Hand und bedrängt nicht die Fremdlinge, Waisen und Witwen und tut niemand Gewalt an und vergießt kein unschuldiges Blut an dieser Stätte. 4 Werdet ihr das tun, so sollen durch die Tore dieses Hauses einziehen Könige, die auf Davids Thron sitzen, und fahren mit Wagen und Rossen samt ihren Großen und ihrem Volk. 5 Werdet ihr aber diesen Worten nicht gehorchen, so habe ich bei mir selbst geschworen, spricht der HERR: Dies Haus soll zur Trümmerstätte werden. 6 Denn so spricht der HERR von dem Hause des Königs von Juda: Bist du mir auch wie Gilead oder wie der Gipfel des Libanon – was gilt’s? Ich will dich zur Wüste, zur Stadt ohne Einwohner machen! 7 Ich will Verderber wider dich bestellen, einen jeden mit seinen Waffen; die sollen deine auserwählten Zedern umhauen und ins Feuer werfen. 8 Da werden viele Völker an dieser Stadt vorüberziehen und zueinander sagen: Warum hat der HERR an dieser großen Stadt so gehandelt? 9 Und man wird antworten: Weil sie den Bund des HERRN, ihres Gottes, verlassen und andere Götter angebetet und ihnen gedient haben.

10 Weint nicht über den Toten und grämt euch nicht um ihn; weint aber über den, der fortgezogen ist; denn er wird nicht mehr wiederkommen und sein Vaterland nicht wiedersehen. 11 Denn so spricht der HERR über Schallum, den Sohn Josias, des Königs von Juda, der König wurde an seines Vaters Josia statt: Der von dieser Stätte fortgezogen ist, wird nicht wieder herkommen, 12 sondern muss sterben an dem Ort, wohin er gefangen geführt ist, und wird dies Land nicht mehr sehen.

13 Weh dem, der sein Haus mit Sünden baut und seine Gemächer mit Unrecht, der seinen Nächsten umsonst arbeiten lässt und gibt ihm seinen Lohn nicht 14 und denkt: »Wohlan, ich will mir ein großes Haus bauen und weite Gemächer«, und lässt ihm Fenster einsetzen und es mit Zedern täfeln und rot malen. 15 Meinst du, du seist König, weil du mit Zedern prangst? Hat dein Vater nicht auch gegessen und getrunken und hielt dennoch auf Recht und Gerechtigkeit, und es ging ihm gut? 16 Er half dem Elenden und Armen zum Recht, und es ging ihm gut. Heißt dies nicht, mich recht erkennen?, spricht der HERR. 17 Aber deine Augen und dein Herz sind auf nichts anderes aus als auf unrechten Gewinn und darauf, unschuldiges Blut zu vergießen, zu unterdrücken und zu misshandeln. 18 Darum, so spricht der HERR über Jojakim, den Sohn Josias, den König von Juda: Man wird ihn nicht beklagen: »Ach, Bruder! Ach, Schwester!« Man wird ihn nicht beklagen: »Ach, Herr! Ach, Edler!« 19 Er soll wie ein Esel begraben werden, fortgeschleift und hinausgeworfen vor die Tore Jerusalems.

Jerusalems Sturz

20 Geh hinauf auf den Libanon und schreie und lass deine Klage hören in Baschan und schreie vom Abarim her; denn alle deine Liebhaber sind jämmerlich umgebracht! 21 Ich habe dir’s vorher gesagt, als es noch gut um dich stand; aber du sprachst: »Ich will nicht hören.« So hast du es von Jugend an getan, dass du meiner Stimme nicht gehorchtest. 22 Alle deine Hirten weidet der Sturmwind, und deine Liebhaber müssen gefangen fort. So wirst du zu Spott und zuschanden werden um aller deiner Bosheit willen. 23 Die du jetzt auf dem Libanon wohnst und in Zedern nistest, wie wirst du stöhnen, wenn dir Schmerzen und Wehen kommen werden wie einer in Kindsnöten!

Gegen Jojachin (Konja)

24 So wahr ich lebe, spricht der HERR: Wenn Konja, der Sohn Jojakims, der König von Juda, ein Siegelring wäre an meiner rechten Hand, so wollte ich dich doch abreißen 25 und in die Hände derer geben, die dir nach dem Leben trachten und vor denen du dich fürchtest: in die Hände Nebukadnezars, des Königs von Babel, und der Chaldäer. 26 Und ich will dich und deine Mutter, die dich geboren hat, in ein anderes Land schleudern, in dem ihr nicht geboren seid; dort sollt ihr sterben. 27 Aber in das Land, wohin sie von Herzen gern wiederkämen, sollen sie nicht zurückkehren. 28 Ist denn dieser Mann Konja ein verachtetes, zerschlagenes Gefäß oder ein Gerät, das niemand haben will? Warum wurde er denn samt seinem Geschlecht fortgeschleudert und in ein unbekanntes Land geworfen! 29 O Land, Land, Land, höre des HERRN Wort! 30 So spricht der HERR: Schreibt diesen Mann auf, als hätte er keine Kinder, als einen Mann, dem sein Leben lang nichts gelingt! Denn keiner seiner Nachkommen wird das Glück haben, dass er auf dem Thron Davids sitze und wieder in Juda herrsche.

Judgment against wicked kings

1 This is what the Lord says: ‘Go down to the palace of the king of Judah and proclaim this message there: 2 “Hear the word of the Lord to you, king of Judah, you who sit on David’s throne – you, your officials and your people who come through these gates. 3 This is what the Lord says: do what is just and right. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place. 4 For if you are careful to carry out these commands, then kings who sit on David’s throne will come through the gates of this palace, riding in chariots and on horses, accompanied by their officials and their people. 5 But if you do not obey these commands, declares the Lord, I swear by myself that this palace will become a ruin.” ’ 6 For this is what the Lord says about the palace of the king of Judah: ‘Though you are like Gilead to me, like the summit of Lebanon, I will surely make you like a wasteland, like towns not inhabited. 7 I will send destroyers against you, each man with his weapons, and they will cut up your fine cedar beams and throw them into the fire. 8 ‘People from many nations will pass by this city and will ask one another, “Why has the Lord done such a thing to this great city?” 9 And the answer will be: “Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord their God and have worshipped and served other gods.” ’ 10 Do not weep for the dead king or mourn his loss; rather, weep bitterly for him who is exiled, because he will never return nor see his native land again. 11 For this is what the Lord says about Shallum* son of Josiah, who succeeded his father as king of Judah but has gone from this place: ‘He will never return. 12 He will die in the place where they have led him captive; he will not see this land again.’ 13 ‘Woe to him who builds his palace by unrighteousness, his upper rooms by injustice, making his own people work for nothing, not paying them for their labour. 14 He says, “I will build myself a great palace with spacious upper rooms.” So he makes large windows in it, panels it with cedar and decorates it in red. 15 ‘Does it make you a king to have more and more cedar? Did not your father have food and drink? He did what was right and just, so all went well with him. 16 He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well. Is that not what it means to know me?’ declares the Lord. 17 ‘But your eyes and your heart are set only on dishonest gain, on shedding innocent blood and on oppression and extortion.’ 18 Therefore this is what the Lord says about Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah: ‘They will not mourn for him: “Alas, my brother! Alas, my sister!” They will not mourn for him: “Alas, my master! Alas, his splendour!” 19 He will have the burial of a donkey – dragged away and thrown outside the gates of Jerusalem.’ 20 ‘Go up to Lebanon and cry out, let your voice be heard in Bashan, cry out from Abarim, for all your allies are crushed. 21 I warned you when you felt secure, but you said, “I will not listen!” This has been your way from your youth; you have not obeyed me. 22 The wind will drive all your shepherds away, and your allies will go into exile. Then you will be ashamed and disgraced because of all your wickedness. 23 You who live in “Lebanon,*” who are nestled in cedar buildings, how you will groan when pangs come upon you, pain like that of a woman in labour! 24 ‘As surely as I live,’ declares the Lord, ‘even if you, Jehoiachin* son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, were a signet ring on my right hand, I would still pull you off. 25 I will deliver you into the hands of those who want to kill you, those you fear – Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and the Babylonians.* 26 I will hurl you and the mother who gave you birth into another country, where neither of you was born, and there you both will die. 27 You will never come back to the land you long to return to.’ 28 Is this man Jehoiachin a despised, broken pot, an object no-one wants? Why will he and his children be hurled out, cast into a land they do not know? 29 O land, land, land, hear the word of the Lord! 30 This is what the Lord says: ‘Record this man as if childless, a man who will not prosper in his lifetime, for none of his offspring will prosper, none will sit on the throne of David or rule anymore in Judah.’
