1Denn der HERR wird sich über Jakob erbarmen und Israel noch einmal erwählen und sie in ihrem Land wieder ruhen lassen. Und Fremdlinge werden sich zu ihnen gesellen und dem Hause Jakob anhangen.2Und die Völker werden Israel nehmen und an seinen Ort bringen, und dann wird das Haus Israel sie als Knechte und Mägde besitzen im Lande des HERRN. Und sie werden gefangen halten die, von denen sie gefangen waren, und werden herrschen über ihre Treiber.3Und zu der Zeit, wenn dir der HERR Ruhe geben wird von deinem Jammer und Leid und von dem harten Dienst, in dem du gewesen bist,4wirst du dies Lied anheben gegen den König von Babel und sagen: Wie ist’s mit dem Treiber so gar aus, und das Toben hat ein Ende!5Der HERR hat den Stock der Gottlosen zerbrochen, die Rute der Herrscher.6Der schlug die Völker im Grimm ohne Aufhören und herrschte mit Wüten über die Nationen und verfolgte ohne Erbarmen.7Nun hat Ruhe und Frieden alle Welt und jubelt fröhlich.8Auch die Zypressen freuen sich über dich und die Zedern auf dem Libanon und sagen: »Seit du daliegst, kommt niemand herauf, der uns abhaut.«9Das Totenreich drunten erzittert vor dir, wenn du kommst. Es schreckt auf vor dir die Schatten, alle Gewaltigen der Erde, und lässt alle Könige der Völker von ihren Thronen aufstehen.10Sie alle heben an und sagen zu dir: Auch du bist schwach geworden wie wir, und es geht dir wie uns.11Deine Pracht ist herunter ins Totenreich gefahren samt dem Klang deiner Harfen. Gewürm wird dein Bett sein und Würmer deine Decke.12Wie bist du vom Himmel gefallen, du schöner Morgenstern! Wie wurdest du zu Boden geschlagen, du Bezwinger der Völker!13Du aber gedachtest in deinem Herzen: »Ich will in den Himmel steigen und meinen Thron über die Sterne Gottes erhöhen, ich will mich setzen auf den Berg der Versammlung im fernsten Norden*.14Ich will auffahren über die hohen Wolken und gleich sein dem Allerhöchsten.«15Doch hinunter ins Totenreich fährst du, in die tiefste Grube!16Wer dich sieht, wird auf dich schauen, wird dich ansehen und sagen: »Ist das der Mann, der die Welt zittern und die Königreiche beben machte,17der den Erdkreis zur Wüste machte und seine Städte zerstörte und seine Gefangenen nicht nach Hause entließ?«18Alle Könige der Völker ruhen doch in Ehren, ein jeder in seiner Kammer;19du aber bist hingeworfen ohne Grab wie ein verachteter Spross, bedeckt von Erschlagenen, die mit dem Schwert erstochen sind, wie eine zertretene Leiche.20Du wirst nicht mit jenen vereint sein im Grab; denn du hast dein Land verderbt und dein Volk erschlagen. Man wird des Geschlechtes der Bösen nicht mehr gedenken.21Richtet die Schlachtbank zu für seine Söhne um der Missetat ihrer Väter willen, dass sie nicht wieder hochkommen und die Welt erobern und den Erdkreis mit Städten füllen.22Und ich will über sie kommen, spricht der HERR Zebaoth, und von Babel ausrotten Name und Rest, Kind und Kindeskind, spricht der HERR.23Und ich will Babel machen zum Erbe für die Igel und zu einem Wassersumpf und will es mit dem Besen des Verderbens wegfegen, spricht der HERR Zebaoth.
Gegen Assyrien
24Der HERR Zebaoth hat geschworen: Wie ich es erdacht habe, so ist es geschehen, und was ich beschlossen habe, das kommt zustande,25dass ich Assur zerschlage in meinem Lande und zertrete auf meinen Bergen, damit sein Joch von ihnen genommen werde und seine Last von ihrem Halse weiche.26Das ist der Plan, den er hat für die ganze Erde, und das ist die Hand, die ausgereckt ist über alle Völker.27Denn der HERR Zebaoth hat’s beschlossen – wer will’s wehren? Und seine Hand ist ausgereckt – wer will sie wenden?
Gegen die Philister
28Im Jahr, als König Ahas starb, wurde diese Last angekündigt:29Freue dich nicht, ganz Philisterland, dass der Stock, der dich schlug, zerbrochen ist! Denn aus der Wurzel der Schlange wird eine giftige Natter kommen, und ihre Frucht wird eine fliegende Schlange sein.30Die Geringen werden auf meiner Aue weiden und die Armen sicher ruhen; aber deine Wurzel will ich durch Hunger töten, und deine Übriggebliebenen werde ich erwürgen.31Heule, Tor! Schreie, Stadt! Erzittere, ganz Philisterland! Denn von Norden kommt Rauch und keiner sondert sich ab von seinen Scharen.32Und was wird man den Boten der Völker sagen? »Der HERR hat Zion gegründet, und hier finden die Elenden seines Volks Zuflucht.«
