1Das Los des Stammes Juda nach seinen Geschlechtern lag gegen die Grenze Edoms hin, nach der Wüste Zin zu im äußersten Süden.2Seine Südgrenze begann am Ende des Salzmeers, an seiner südlichen Spitze,3und geht dann südwärts vom Skorpionensteig und geht weiter nach Zin und führt hinauf südlich von Kadesch-Barnea bis hinüber nach Hezron und führt hinauf nach Addar und biegt um nach Karka4und führt hinüber nach Azmon und läuft aus am Bach Ägyptens, sodass das Ende der Grenze das Meer wird. Das sei eure Grenze nach Süden.5Die Ostgrenze ist das Salzmeer bis dort, wo der Jordan mündet. Die Nordgrenze beginnt am Meer dort, wo der Jordan mündet,6und die Grenze führt hinauf nach Bet-Hogla und zieht sich hin nördlich von Bet-Araba und kommt herauf zum Stein Bohans, des Sohnes Rubens,7und die Grenze führt hinauf nach Debir vom Tal Achor und wendet sich nordwärts nach Gelilot, gegenüber der Steige von Adummim, die südlich vom Bachtal liegt. Danach geht die Grenze zu dem Wasser von En-Schemesch und läuft aus zur Quelle Rogel.8Danach führt die Grenze hinauf zum Tal Ben-Hinnom südlich des Berghangs der Jebusiter – das ist Jerusalem –, und die Grenze kommt hinauf auf den Gipfel des Berges, der westlich vor dem Tal Hinnom liegt und an der Nordecke der Ebene Refaïm.9Danach kommt die Grenze von dem Berggipfel zur Quelle Neftoach und läuft aus zu den Städten des Berges Efron und neigt sich nach Baala – das ist Kirjat-Jearim –,10und die Grenze biegt um von Baala nach Westen zum Gebirge Seïr und geht an der Nordseite des Gebirges Jearim – das ist Kesalon – und kommt herab nach Bet-Schemesch und geht durch Timna,11und die Grenze kommt heraus am Nordhang des Berges Ekron und zieht sich nach Schikkaron und geht hinüber zum Berge von Baala und kommt heraus bei Jabneel, sodass die Grenze am Meer endet.12Die Westgrenze aber ist das große Meer und sein Gestade. Das ist die Grenze der Judäer ringsumher nach ihren Geschlechtern.
Kaleb erhält Hebron. Otniël erobert Debir
13Kaleb aber, dem Sohn Jefunnes, wurde sein Teil gegeben mitten unter den Judäern, wie der HERR dem Josua befahl, nämlich die Stadt des Arba, des Vaters Anaks, das ist Hebron.14Und Kaleb vertrieb von dort die drei Söhne Anaks: Scheschai, Ahiman und Talmai, die Nachkommen Anaks,15und zog von dort hinauf gegen die Einwohner von Debir. Debir aber hieß vorzeiten Kirjat-Sefer.16Und Kaleb sprach: Wer Kirjat-Sefer schlägt und erobert, dem will ich meine Tochter Achsa zur Frau geben.17Da eroberte es Otniël, der Sohn des Kenas, des Bruders Kalebs. Und Kaleb gab ihm seine Tochter Achsa zur Frau.18Und es begab sich, als sie zu ihm kam, beredete sie ihn, einen Acker zu fordern von ihrem Vater. Und sie stieg vom Esel. Da sprach Kaleb zu ihr: Was willst du?19Sie sprach: Gib mir eine Segensgabe! Denn du hast mich nach dem dürren Südland gegeben; gib mir auch Wasserquellen! Da gab er ihr die oberen und die unteren Quellen.

20Dies ist das Erbteil des Stammes Juda nach seinen Geschlechtern.21Und die Städte am Rand des Stammes Juda an der Grenze zu Edom im Südland waren diese: Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur,22Kina, Dimona, Adada,23Kedesch, Hazor, Jitnan,24Sif, Telem, Bealot,25Hazor-Hadatta, Kerijot-Hezron – das ist Hazor –,26Amam, Schema, Molada,27Hazar-Gadda, Heschmon, Bet-Pelet,28Hazar-Schual, Beerscheba und seine Ortschaften,29Baala, Ijim, Ezem,30Eltolad, Kesil, Horma,31Ziklag, Madmanna, Sansanna,32Lebaot, Schilhim, En-Rimmon. 1The allotment for the tribe of the people of Judah according to their clans reached southward to the boundary of Edom, to the wilderness of Zin at the farthest south.2And their south boundary ran from the end of the Salt Sea, from the bay that faces southward.3It goes out southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, passes along to Zin, and goes up south of Kadesh-barnea, along by Hezron, up to Addar, turns about to Karka,4passes along to Azmon, goes out by the Brook of Egypt, and comes to its end at the sea. This shall be your south boundary.5And the east boundary is the Salt Sea, to the mouth of the Jordan. And the boundary on the north side runs from the bay of the sea at the mouth of the Jordan.6And the boundary goes up to Beth-hoglah and passes along north of Beth-arabah. And the boundary goes up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben.7And the boundary goes up to Debir from the Valley of Achor, and so northward, turning toward Gilgal, which is opposite the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the valley. And the boundary passes along to the waters of En-shemesh and ends at En-rogel.8Then the boundary goes up by the Valley of the Son of Hinnom at the southern shoulder of the Jebusite (that is, Jerusalem). And the boundary goes up to the top of the mountain that lies over against the Valley of Hinnom, on the west, at the northern end of the Valley of Rephaim.9Then the boundary extends from the top of the mountain to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah, and from there to the cities of Mount Ephron. Then the boundary bends around to Baalah (that is, Kiriath-jearim).10And the boundary circles west of Baalah to Mount Seir, passes along to the northern shoulder of Mount Jearim (that is, Chesalon), and goes down to Beth-shemesh and passes along by Timnah.11The boundary goes out to the shoulder of the hill north of Ekron, then the boundary bends around to Shikkeron and passes along to Mount Baalah and goes out to Jabneel. Then the boundary comes to an end at the sea.12And the west boundary was the Great Sea with its coastline. This is the boundary around the people of Judah according to their clans.13According to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, he gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the people of Judah, Kiriath-arba, that is, Hebron (Arba was the father of Anak).14And Caleb drove out from there the three sons of Anak, Sheshai and Ahiman and Talmai, the descendants of Anak.15And he went up from there against the inhabitants of Debir. Now the name of Debir formerly was Kiriath-sepher.16And Caleb said, “Whoever strikes Kiriath-sepher and captures it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter as wife.”17And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, captured it. And he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife.18When she came to him, she urged him to ask her father for a field.
