Psalm 53 | King James Version

1 To the chief Musician upon Mahalath, Maschil, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. 2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. 3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God. 5 There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them. 6 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

1 Nebunul zice în inima lui: „Nu există Dumnezeu!“ Toți s‑au pervertit, săvârșesc fărădelegi scârboase; nu mai este nimeni care să facă binele.** 2 Dumnezeu Își pleacă privirea din ceruri peste fiii omului, ca să vadă dacă există vreunul care să aibă înțelepciune, vreunul care să‑L caute pe Dumnezeu. 3 Toți s‑au rătăcit, cu toții au devenit corupți! Nu mai este nimeni care să facă binele, nimeni, niciunul măcar! 4 Oare cei ce săvârșesc nelegiuirea nu știu – cei ce‑Mi devorează poporul așa cum mănâncă pâinea și nu‑L cheamă pe Dumnezeu? 5 Chiar acolo unde sunt se vor îngrozi foarte tare, fără să fie vreo pricină de groază. Căci Dumnezeu va împrăștia oasele celor ce‑și așază tabăra împotriva ta și îi vei face de rușine, căci Dumnezeu i‑a lepădat. 6 O, de ar veni din Sion izbăvirea lui Israel! Când Dumnezeu va aduce înapoi captivii poporului Său, să se înveselească Iacov și să se bucure Israel!
