Psalm 122 | King James Version

1 A Song of degrees of David. I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.

2 Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.

3 Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:

4 Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD.

5 For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.

8 For my brethren and companions'sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

9 Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.

1 Ein Wallfahrtslied (oder Stufenlied? vgl. Ps 120) Davids. Ich freute mich, als man mir sagte: »Wir wollen pilgern zum Hause des HERRN!«

2 So stehn denn nunmehr unsre Füße in deinen Toren, Jerusalem!

3 Jerusalem, du wiedererbaute als eine Stadt, die fest in sich geschlossen,

4 wohin die Stämme hinaufziehn, die Stämme des HERRN, nach der für Israel gültigen Weisung, dort den Namen des HERRN zu preisen;

5 denn dort waren einst aufgestellt die Stühle zum Gericht, die Stühle des Hauses Davids.

6 Bringet Jerusalem dar den Friedensgruß: »Heil denen, die dich lieben!

7 Friede herrsche vor deinen Mauern, sichere Ruhe in deinen Palästen!«

8 Um meiner Brüder und Freunde willen will ich dir Frieden* wünschen;

9 um des Hauses des HERRN, unsres Gottes, willen will ich Segen für dich erbitten.
