1 Now these are the kings of the land, which the children of Israel smote, and possessed their land on the other side Jordan toward the rising of the sun, from the river Arnon unto mount Hermon, and all the plain on the east:

2 Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, and ruled from Aroer, which is upon the bank of the river Arnon, and from the middle of the river, and from half Gilead, even unto the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon;

3 And from the plain to the sea of Chinneroth on the east, and unto the sea of the plain, even the salt sea on the east, the way to Bethjeshimoth; and from the south, under Ashdothpisgah:

4 And the coast of Og king of Bashan, which was of the remnant of the giants, that dwelt at Ashtaroth and at Edrei,

5 And reigned in mount Hermon, and in Salcah, and in all Bashan, unto the border of the Geshurites and the Maachathites, and half Gilead, the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.

6 Them did Moses the servant of the LORD and the children of Israel smite: and Moses the servant of the LORD gave it for a possession unto the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh.

7 And these are the kings of the country which Joshua and the children of Israel smote on this side Jordan on the west, from Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon even unto the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir; which Joshua gave unto the tribes of Israel for a possession according to their divisions;

8 In the mountains, and in the valleys, and in the plains, and in the springs, and in the wilderness, and in the south country; the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites:

9 The king of Jericho, one; the king of Ai, which is beside Bethel, one;

10 The king of Jerusalem, one; the king of Hebron, one;

11 The king of Jarmuth, one; the king of Lachish, one;

12 The king of Eglon, one; the king of Gezer, one;

13 The king of Debir, one; the king of Geder, one;

14 The king of Hormah, one; the king of Arad, one;

15 The king of Libnah, one; the king of Adullam, one;

16 The king of Makkedah, one; the king of Bethel, one;

17 The king of Tappuah, one; the king of Hepher, one;

18 The king of Aphek, one; the king of Lasharon, one;

19 The king of Madon, one; the king of Hazor, one;

20 The king of Shimronmeron, one; the king of Achshaph, one;

21 The king of Taanach, one; the king of Megiddo, one;

22 The king of Kedesh, one; the king of Jokneam of Carmel, one;

23 The king of Dor in the coast of Dor, one; the king of the nations of Gilgal, one;

24 The king of Tirzah, one: all the kings thirty and one.

Die zwei von Mose besiegten ostjordanischen Könige

1 Dies sind die Könige des Landes, welche die Israeliten besiegt und deren Land sie in Besitz genommen haben: im Ostjordanlande (die Gebiete) vom Fluß Arnon an bis zum Hermongebirge nebst der ganzen Steppe östlich vom Jordan:

2 Sihon, der König der Amoriter, der in Hesbon seinen Sitz hatte; er herrschte von Aroer an, das am Ufer des Flusses Arnon liegt, und zwar von der Mitte des Flußtals an und über die Hälfte von Gilead bis zum Fluß Jabbok, der Grenze der Ammoniter,

3 und über das Jordantal bis an die Ostseite des Sees Genezareth und bis an die Ostseite des Meeres der Steppe, des Salzsees, nach Beth-Jesimoth hin und südwärts (über das Land) am Fuß der Abhänge des Pisgagebirges.

4 Sodann das Gebiet Ogs, des Königs von Basan, der zu den Überresten der Rephaiter* gehörte und in Astaroth und Edrei seinen Sitz hatte;

5 er herrschte über das Hermongebirge, über Salcha und ganz Basan bis an die Grenze der Gesuriter und Maachathiter und über die Hälfte von Gilead bis an das Gebiet Sihons, des Königs von Hesbon.

6 Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, und die Israeliten hatten sie besiegt, und Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, hatte ihr Gebiet den beiden Stämmen Ruben und Gad und dem halben Stamm Manasse zum Besitz gegeben.

7 Und dies sind die Könige des Landes, welche Josua und die Israeliten im Westjordanlande besiegt haben, von Baal-Gad im Libanontal an bis zu dem kahlen Gebirge, das nach Seir hin ansteigt, und deren Land Josua den israelitischen Stämmen zum Besitz überwies, jedem Stamme einen Teil,

8 im Berglande wie in der Niederung und im Jordantal, an den Bergabhängen wie in der Wüste und im Südlande, die (Gebiete der) Hethiter, Amoriter, Kanaanäer, Pherissiter, Hewiter und Jebusiter:

9 der König von Jericho (war) einer; der König von Ai, das seitwärts von Bethel liegt, einer;

10 der König von Jerusalem einer; der König von Hebron einer;

11 der König von Jarmuth einer; der König von Lachis einer;

12 der König von Eglon einer; der König von Geser einer;

13 der König von Debir einer; der König von Geder einer;

14 der König von Horma einer; der König von Arad einer;

15 der König von Libna einer; der König von Adullam einer;

16 der König von Makkeda einer; der König von Bethel einer;

17 der König von Thappuah einer; der König von Hepher einer;

18 der König von Aphek einer; der König von Saron einer;

19 der König von Madon einer; der König von Hazor einer;

20 der König von Simron-Meron einer; der König von Achsaph einer;

21 der König von Thaanach einer; der König von Megiddo einer;

22 der König von Kedes einer; der König von Jokneam am Karmel einer;

23 der König von Dor in dem Hügelgelände von Dor einer; der König von Gojim* in Gilgal einer;

24 der König von Thirza einer. Im ganzen waren es einunddreißig Könige.
