1 And thou shalt make an altar of shittim wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and the height thereof shall be three cubits.

2 And thou shalt make the horns of it upon the four corners thereof: his horns shall be of the same: and thou shalt overlay it with brass.

3 And thou shalt make his pans to receive his ashes, and his shovels, and his basons, and his fleshhooks, and his firepans: all the vessels thereof thou shalt make of brass.

4 And thou shalt make for it a grate of network of brass; and upon the net shalt thou make four brasen rings in the four corners thereof.

5 And thou shalt put it under the compass of the altar beneath, that the net may be even to the midst of the altar.

6 And thou shalt make staves for the altar, staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with brass.

7 And the staves shall be put into the rings, and the staves shall be upon the two sides of the altar, to bear it.

8 Hollow with boards shalt thou make it: as it was shewed thee in the mount, so shall they make it .

9 And thou shalt make the court of the tabernacle: for the south side southward there shall be hangings for the court of fine twined linen of an hundred cubits long for one side:

10 And the twenty pillars thereof and their twenty sockets shall be of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets shall be of silver.

11 And likewise for the north side in length there shall be hangings of an hundred cubits long, and his twenty pillars and their twenty sockets of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver.

12 And for the breadth of the court on the west side shall be hangings of fifty cubits: their pillars ten, and their sockets ten.

13 And the breadth of the court on the east side eastward shall be fifty cubits.

14 The hangings of one side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.

15 And on the other side shall be hangings fifteen cubits : their pillars three, and their sockets three.

16 And for the gate of the court shall be an hanging of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework: and their pillars shall be four, and their sockets four.

17 All the pillars round about the court shall be filleted with silver; their hooks shall be of silver, and their sockets of brass.

18 The length of the court shall be an hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty every where, and the height five cubits of fine twined linen, and their sockets of brass.

19 All the vessels of the tabernacle in all the service thereof, and all the pins thereof, and all the pins of the court, shall be of brass.

20 And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always.

21 In the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the LORD: it shall be a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.

Anweisung über den Brandopferaltar, den Vorhof und die Lieferung von Öl für den Leuchter

1 »Den (Brandopfer-) Altar sollst du aus Akazienholz anfertigen, fünf Ellen lang und fünf Ellen breit – viereckig* soll der Altar sein – und drei Ellen hoch.

2 Die zu ihm gehörenden Hörner sollst du an seinen vier Ecken anbringen; sie sollen mit ihm aus einem Stück bestehen; und du sollst ihn mit Kupfer überziehen.

3 Sodann verfertige die zugehörigen, zur Wegräumung der Fettasche dienenden Töpfe, sowie die zugehörigen Schaufeln, Becken, Gabeln und Pfannen; alle erforderlichen Geräte sollst du aus Kupfer herstellen.

4 Weiter fertige ein Gitterwerk, netzartig, aus Kupfer für den Altar an, und setze an das Netzwerk vier kupferne Ringe an seine vier Ecken,

5 und bringe es unterhalb der Einfassung des Altars von unten auf an, so daß das Netzwerk bis zur halben Höhe des Altars hinaufgeht.

6 Sodann fertige Tragstangen für den Altar an, Stangen von Akazienholz, und überziehe sie mit Kupfer.

7 Diese seine Stangen sollen dann in die Ringe gesteckt werden, so daß sich die Stangen an den beiden Seiten des Altars befinden, wenn man ihn trägt.

8 Du sollst ihn aus Brettern so herstellen, daß er inwendig hohl ist; wie man es dir auf dem Berge gezeigt hat, so soll man ihn anfertigen.

9 Den Vorhof der Wohnung aber sollst du so herstellen: auf der Mittagseite, nach Süden zu, Umhänge für den Vorhof aus gezwirntem Byssus, hundert Ellen lang, für die eine Seite;

10 dazu zwanzig Ständer* nebst den zugehörigen zwanzig kupfernen Füßen*; die Nägel und Ringbänder der Säulen müssen von Silber sein.

11 Ebenso auf der nördlichen Langseite: Umhänge von hundert Ellen Länge; dazu zwanzig Ständer* nebst den zugehörigen zwanzig kupfernen Füßen; die Nägel und Ringbänder der Säulen müssen von Silber sein.

12 Ferner auf der westlichen Breitseite des Vorhofs: Umhänge von fünfzig Ellen Länge; dazu zehn Ständer* nebst den zugehörigen zehn Füßen.

13 Die Breite der östlichen Vorderseite des Vorhofs soll fünfzig Ellen betragen,

14 und zwar fünfzehn Ellen Umhänge für die eine Seite mit ihren drei Säulen und deren drei Füßen,

15 und ebenso fünfzehn Ellen Umhänge für die andere Seite mit ihren drei Säulen und deren drei Füßen.

16 Am Eingang zum Vorhof aber soll sich ein Vorhang von zwanzig Ellen Breite befinden, aus blauem und rotem Purpur, aus Karmesin und gezwirntem Byssus in Buntwirkerarbeit gefertigt; dazu vier Säulen nebst deren vier Füßen.

17 Alle Säulen rings um den Vorhof sollen mit silbernen Ringbändern versehen sein, auch ihre Nägel von Silber, ihre Füße aber von Kupfer.

18 Die Länge des Vorhofs soll hundert Ellen, die Breite je fünfzig und die Höhe fünf Ellen betragen, nämlich Umhänge von gezwirntem Byssus; ihre Füße aber sollen von Kupfer sein.

19 Alle Gerätschaften der Wohnung für den gesamten Dienst an ihr, auch alle ihre Pflöcke und alle Pflöcke des Vorhofs sollen von Kupfer sein.

20 Sodann befiehl du den Israeliten, dir ganz reines Öl aus zerstoßenen Oliven für den Leuchter zu bringen, damit man beständig Lampen aufsetzen kann.

21 Im Offenbarungszelt, außerhalb des Vorhangs, der sich vor (der Lade mit) dem Gesetz befindet, soll Aaron mit seinen Söhnen die Lampen zurechtmachen, damit sie vom Abend bis zum Morgen vor dem HERRN brennen. Diese Verordnung soll ewige Geltung für die Israeliten von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht haben!«
