1Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father' stead in Jerusalem.2Jehoahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.3And the king of Egypt put him down at Jerusalem, and condemned the land in an hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.4And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and turned his name to Jehoiakim. And Necho took Jehoahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.5Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God.6Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.7Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the LORD to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.8Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.9Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.10And when the year was expired, king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the LORD, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.11Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.12And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God, and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the LORD.13And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the LORD God of Israel.14Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.15And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:16But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.17Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave them all into his hand.18And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes; all these he brought to Babylon.19And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof.20And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:21To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.22Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,23Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.

Joahas, Jojakim, Jojachin
1Und das Volk des Landes nahm Joahas, den Sohn Josias, und machte ihn zum König an seines Vaters statt zu Jerusalem.2Dreiundzwanzig Jahre alt war Joahas, als er König wurde; und er regierte drei Monate zu Jerusalem;3denn der König von Ägypten setzte ihn ab in Jerusalem und legte eine Geldbuße auf das Land von hundert Zentnern Silber und einem Zentner Gold.4Und der König von Ägypten machte Eljakim, seinen Bruder, zum König über Juda und Jerusalem und wandelte seinen Namen um in Jojakim. Aber seinen Bruder Joahas nahm Necho und brachte ihn nach Ägypten.5Fünfundzwanzig Jahre alt war Jojakim, als er König wurde; und er regierte elf Jahre zu Jerusalem und tat, was dem HERRN, seinem Gott, missfiel.6Und Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, zog gegen ihn herauf und legte ihn in Ketten, um ihn nach Babel zu führen.7Auch brachte Nebukadnezar einen Teil der Geräte des Hauses des HERRN nach Babel und tat sie in seinen Tempel in Babel.8Was aber mehr von Jojakim zu sagen ist, und die Gräuel, die er tat, und was sich über ihn fand, siehe, das steht geschrieben im Buch der Könige von Israel und Juda. Und sein Sohn Jojachin wurde König an seiner statt.9Acht* Jahre alt war Jojachin, als er König wurde; und er regierte drei Monate und zehn Tage zu Jerusalem und tat, was dem HERRN missfiel.10Als aber das Jahr zu Ende ging, sandte Nebukadnezar hin und ließ ihn nach Babel holen mit den kostbaren Geräten aus dem Hause des HERRN und machte seinen Bruder Zedekia zum König über Juda und Jerusalem.
Zedekia und die Wegführung nach Babel
11Einundzwanzig Jahre alt war Zedekia, als er König wurde; und er regierte elf Jahre zu Jerusalem12und tat, was dem HERRN, seinem Gott, missfiel, und demütigte sich nicht vor dem Propheten Jeremia, vor dem Mund des HERRN.13Auch wurde er abtrünnig von Nebukadnezar, dem König von Babel, der einen Eid bei Gott von ihm genommen hatte, und wurde halsstarrig und verstockte sein Herz, sodass er sich nicht bekehrte zu dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels.14Auch alle Oberen Judas und die Priester und das Volk versündigten sich noch mehr mit all den gräulichen Sitten der Heiden und machten unrein das Haus des HERRN, das er geheiligt hatte in Jerusalem.15Und der HERR, der Gott ihrer Väter, ließ immer wieder gegen sie reden durch seine Boten; denn er hatte Mitleid mit seinem Volk und seiner Wohnung.16Aber sie verspotteten die Boten Gottes und verachteten seine Worte und verhöhnten seine Propheten, bis der Grimm des HERRN über sein Volk wuchs und es keine Heilung mehr gab.17Da führte er gegen sie heran den König der Chaldäer und ließ ihre junge Mannschaft mit dem Schwert erschlagen im Hause ihres Heiligtums und verschonte weder die Jünglinge noch die Jungfrauen, weder die Alten noch die Greise; alle gab er sie in seine Hand.18Und alle Geräte im Hause Gottes, große und kleine, die Schätze im Hause des HERRN und die Schätze des Königs und seiner Oberen, alles ließ er nach Babel führen.19Und sie verbrannten das Haus Gottes und rissen die Mauer Jerusalems ein, und alle ihre Burgtürme brannten sie mit Feuer aus, sodass alle ihre kostbaren Geräte zunichtewurden.20Und er führte weg nach Babel alle, die dem Schwert entgangen waren, und sie wurden seine und seiner Söhne Knechte, bis das Königtum der Perser zur Herrschaft kam,21dass erfüllt würde das Wort des HERRN durch den Mund Jeremias, bis das Land an seinen Sabbaten genug hätte. Denn die ganze Zeit, da es wüst lag, hatte es Sabbat, bis siebzig Jahre voll wurden.
Ende der babylonischen Gefangenschaft
22Aber im ersten Jahr des Kyrus, des Königs von Persien, erweckte der HERR – dass erfüllt würde das Wort des HERRN durch den Mund Jeremias – den Geist des Kyrus, des Königs von Persien, dass er in seinem ganzen Königreich mündlich und auch schriftlich verkünden ließ:23So spricht Kyrus, der König von Persien: Der HERR, der Gott des Himmels, hat mir alle Königreiche der Erde gegeben, und er hat mir befohlen, ihm ein Haus zu Jerusalem in Juda zu bauen. Wer nun unter euch von seinem Volk ist, mit dem sei der HERR, sein Gott, und er ziehe hinauf!
