Jesaja 11 | King James Version

1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:

4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice'den.

9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

13 The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.

14 But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.

15 And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod.

16 And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.

Das Friedensreich des Messias

1 Was von Davids* Königshaus noch übrig bleibt, gleicht einem abgehauenen Baumstumpf. Doch er wird zu neuem Leben erwachen: Ein junger Trieb sprießt aus seinen Wurzeln hervor.

2 Der Geist des HERRN wird auf ihm ruhen, der Geist der Weisheit und der Einsicht, der Geist des Rates und der Kraft, der Geist der Erkenntnis und der Ehrfurcht vor dem HERRN.

3 Dieser Mann wird den HERRN von ganzem Herzen achten und ehren. Er richtet nicht nach dem Augenschein und fällt seine Urteile nicht nach dem Hörensagen.

4 Unbestechlich verhilft er den Armen zu ihrem Recht und setzt sich für die Rechtlosen im Land ein. Sein Urteilsspruch wird die Erde wie ein Stockhieb treffen; ein Wort von ihm genügt, um die Gottlosen zu töten.

5 Gerechtigkeit und Treue werden sein ganzes Handeln bestimmen, sie umschließen ihn wie ein Gürtel seine Hüften.

6 Dann werden Wolf und Lamm friedlich beieinanderwohnen, der Leopard wird beim Ziegenböckchen liegen. Kälber, Rinder und junge Löwen weiden zusammen, ein kleiner Junge kann sie hüten.

7 Kuh und Bärin teilen die gleiche Weide, und ihre Jungen liegen beieinander. Der Löwe frisst Heu wie ein Rind.

8 Ein Säugling spielt beim Schlupfloch der Viper, ein Kind greift in die Höhle der Otter.

9 Auf dem ganzen heiligen Berg wird niemand etwas Böses tun und Schaden anrichten. Alle Menschen kennen den HERRN, das Wissen um ihn erfüllt das Land wie Wasser das Meer.

10 In dieser Zeit ist der Trieb, der aus der Wurzel Davids* hervorsprießt, als Zeichen für die Völker sichtbar. Sie werden nach ihm fragen, und der Ort, an dem er wohnt, wird herrlich sein.

Der Herr wird sein Volk zurückholen

11 Wenn diese Zeit da ist, streckt der Herr noch einmal seine Hand aus, um den Rest seines Volkes zu befreien. Von überall holt er die übrig gebliebenen Israeliten zurück: aus Assyrien, aus Unter- und Oberägypten, aus Äthiopien, aus Elam in Persien, aus Babylonien, aus Hamat in Syrien und von den fernen Inseln und Küsten.

12 Mitten unter den Völkern richtet er ein Zeichen auf, das ihnen den Weg weist. So sammelt er die Menschen, die aus Israel und Juda vertrieben und in die ganze Welt zerstreut wurden. Aus allen Himmelsrichtungen holt er sie zurück.

13 Dann verschwindet die alte Eifersucht, die Israel auf Juda hegte, und Juda gibt seine Feindseligkeiten gegen Israel auf. Nie mehr werden sie sich gegenseitig bekämpfen.

14 Gemeinsam ziehen sie nun gegen ihre Feinde in den Kampf: Sie stürzen sich auf die Philister im Westen und plündern die Völker im Osten aus; die Länder der Edomiter und Moabiter nehmen sie in Besitz. Auch die Ammoniter werden sie unterwerfen.

15 Der HERR wird Ägyptens Meeresarm* austrocknen lassen. Dem Euphrat droht er mit geballter Faust und zerteilt ihn mit seinem glühenden Atem in sieben kleine Bäche, die man zu Fuß durchqueren kann.

16 So bahnt er dem Rest seines Volkes den Weg, damit es aus Assyrien heimkehren kann, wie er es damals tat, als die Israeliten aus Ägypten wegzogen.
