Psalm 82 | King James Version

1 A Psalm of Asaph. God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods. 2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah. 3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. 4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. 5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course. 6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. 7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. 8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.

1 Gud reser sig i himlens domstol. Han uttalar sin dom över domarna. 2 Hur länge ska ni domare vägra att ta hänsyn till bevismaterialet? Hur länge ska ni ta parti för det onda? 3 Hjälp den fattige och bedrövade och var rättvis mot den föräldralöse. Hjälp den utfattige till att få rätt! 4 Rädda dem ur onda människors grepp! 5 Men ni fattar ingenting och vet ingenting! På grund av er ondska vacklar samhällets grundvalar. 6 Jag har kallat er alla för gudar och söner till den Högste, 7 men ni ska dö som vanliga människor. Ni kommer att falla som vilka furstar som helst för alla måste dö. 8 Res dig, Gud, och döm jorden, för hela jorden tillhör dig! Alla människor är i dina händer.
