Ein Danklied

1 Am Tag deiner Rettung wirst du sagen: »HERR, ich preise dich! Du bist zornig auf mich gewesen; doch nun hat sich dein Zorn gelegt, und ich darf wieder aufatmen!«

2 Dann wirst du bekennen: »Gott ist mein Helfer, ich bin voll Vertrauen und habe keine Angst! Den HERRN will ich rühmen mit meinem Lied, denn er hat mich gerettet.«

3 Voller Freude werdet ihr Wasser schöpfen an Gottes reichen Quellen, aus denen euch seine Hilfe strömt.

4 Und ihr werdet sagen an jenem Tag: »Preist den HERRN! Macht seinen Namen überall bekannt! Verkündet allen Völkern, was er getan hat; sagt ihnen, wie unvergleichlich groß er ist.

5 Singt und spielt zur Ehre des HERRN! Denn er hat gewaltige Taten vollbracht; das soll die ganze Welt erfahren.

6 Freu dich und juble, du Zionsstadt! Denn er wohnt in deiner Mitte, er, der große, heilige Gott Israels!«

1 In that day you will say: ‘I will praise you, Lord. Although you were angry with me, your anger has turned away and you have comforted me.

2 Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defence*; he has become my salvation.’

3 With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.

4 In that day you will say: ‘Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.

5 Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world.

6 Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.’
