Der Tor sagt in seinem Herzen:
Es gibt keinen Gott.
Sie handeln verderbt, handeln abscheulich;
da ist keiner, der Gutes tut.2Der HERR blickt vom Himmel herab auf die Menschen, /
um zu sehen, ob ein Verständiger da ist,
einer, der Gott sucht.3Sie alle sind abgewichen, alle zusammen sind verdorben, /
da ist keiner, der Gutes tut,
auch nicht ein Einziger.4Haben denn all die Übeltäter keine Einsicht? /
Sie fressen mein Volk, als äßen sie Brot.
Den HERRN rufen sie nicht an.5Dort trifft sie ein gewaltiger Schrecken,
denn Gott ist beim Geschlecht der Gerechten.6Den Plan für den Armen wollt ihr vereiteln,
wenn seine Zuflucht der HERR ist?7Wer bringt vom Zion her Rettung für Israel? /
Wenn der HERR das Geschick seines Volkes wendet,
jubelt Jakob, freut sich Israel.

1Foolish people say in their hearts, ‘There is no God.’ They do all kinds of horrible and evil things. No one does anything good.2The LORD looks down from heaven on all people. He wants to see if there are any who understand. He wants to see if there are any who trust in God.3All of them have turned away. They have all become evil. No one does anything good, no one at all.4Do all these people who do evil know nothing? They eat up my people as if they were eating bread. They never call out to the LORD.5But just look at them! They are filled with terror because God is among those who do right.6You who do evil keep poor people from succeeding. But the LORD is their place of safety.7How I pray that the God who saves Israel will come out of Zion! Then the LORD will bless his people with great success again. So let the people of Jacob be filled with joy! Let Israel be glad!
