Praise the Name of the Lord

1 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights! 2 Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his hosts! 3 Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars! 4 Praise him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens! 5 Let them praise the name of the Lord! For he commanded and they were created. 6 And he established them forever and ever; he gave a decree, and it shall not pass away.* 7 Praise the Lord from the earth, you great sea creatures and all deeps, 8 fire and hail, snow and mist, stormy wind fulfilling his word! 9 Mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars! 10 Beasts and all livestock, creeping things and flying birds! 11 Kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all rulers of the earth! 12 Young men and maidens together, old men and children! 13 Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his majesty is above earth and heaven. 14 He has raised up a horn for his people, praise for all his saints, for the people of Israel who are near to him. Praise the Lord!

1 Louez l'Eternel! Louez l'Eternel du haut du ciel! Louez-le dans les hauteurs! 2 Louez-le, vous tous ses anges! Louez-le, vous toutes ses armées! 3 Louez-le, soleil et lune! Louez-le, vous toutes, étoiles lumineuses! 4 Louez-le, cieux des cieux, et vous, les eaux qui êtes au-dessus du ciel! 5 Qu'ils louent le nom de l'Eternel, car il a donné ses ordres et ils ont été créés! 6 Il les a établis pour toujours et à perpétuité; il a donné des lois et il ne les violera pas. 7 Louez l'Eternel depuis la terre, vous, monstres marins, et vous tous, océans, 8 foudre et grêle, neige et brouillards, vents de tempête qui exécutez ses ordres, 9 montagnes et toutes les collines, arbres fruitiers et tous les cèdres, 10 animaux sauvages et tout le bétail, reptiles et oiseaux ailés, 11 rois du monde et tous les peuples, princes et tous les juges de la terre, 12 jeunes gens et jeunes filles, vieillards et enfants! 13 Qu'ils louent le nom de l'Eternel, car son nom seul est élevé, sa majesté domine la terre et le ciel. 14 Il a relevé la force de son peuple: c'est un sujet de louange pour tous ses fidèles, pour les Israélites, pour le peuple qui est près de lui. Louez l'Eternel!
