1Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb.2And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.3His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.4And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men.5But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.6He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he* lay.7Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.”8So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples.9And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him.10Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.”
The Report of the Guard
11While they were going, behold, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests all that had taken place.12And when they had assembled with the elders and taken counsel, they gave a sufficient sum of money to the soldiers13and said, “Tell people, ‘His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.’14And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.”15So they took the money and did as they were directed. And this story has been spread among the Jews to this day.
The Great Commission
16Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them.17And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted.18And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.19Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in* the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

1شنبه به هر حال گذشت. يكشنبه صبح زود، مريم مجدليه و آن مريم ديگر به سر قبر رفتند.2ناگهان زمين لرزهٔ شديدی رخ داد، زيرا يكی از فرشتگان خداوند از آسمان پايين آمده، به سوی سنگ قبر رفت و آن را به كناری افكند و بر آن نشست.3صورت فرشته میدرخشيد و لباسش مثل برف سفيد بود.4نگهبانان با ديدن او به شدت ترسيده، لرزان شدند و همچون مرده، بیحركت بر زمين افتادند.5فرشته به زنان گفت: «نترسيد! میدانم به دنبال عيسای مصلوب میگرديد؛6او اينجا نيست! همانطور كه خودش گفته بود، زنده شده است. جلو بياييد و جايی كه جسد او را گذاشته بودند، به چشم خود ببينيد.7و حالا زود رفته، به شاگردانش بگوييد كه او زنده شده است و به جليل میرود تا ايشان را در آنجا ببيند. فراموش نكنيد اين پيغام را به آنان برسانيد.»8زنان با عجله از قبر خارج شدند و در حالی که هم میترسيدند و هم بسيار خوشحال بودند، فوری به سراغ شاگردان رفتند تا پيغام فرشته را به ايشان بدهند.9در همان حال كه میدويدند، ناگهان عيسی را در مقابل خود ديدند! او گفت: «سلام!» زنها به پايهای او افتادند و او را پرستش كردند.10عيسی به ايشان فرمود: «نترسيد! برويد به برادران من بگوييد كه هر چه زودتر به جليل بروند تا مرا در آنجا ببينند.»
گزارش نگهبانان
11زنان هنوز به شهر نرسيده بودند، كه چند نگهبان از سر قبر، خود را به شهر رساندند و به كاهنان اعظم جريان را گفتند.12تمام سران قوم يهود جمع شدند و تصميم گرفتند به نگهبانان پول زياد بدهند تا بگويند وقتی كه در خواب بودند، شاگردان عيسی جسد او را شبانه دزديدند.14در ضمن، به نگهبانان گفتند: «اگر اين موضوع به گوش فرماندار برسد، ما جوابش را خواهيم داد تا مشكلی برای شما ايجاد نشود.»15نگهبانان رشوه را گرفتند و خبر دروغ را شايع كردند، به طوری كه هنوز هم كه هنوز است يهوديان اين قصه را باور میكنند.
فرمان بزرگ عيسی
16پس يازده شاگرد عيسی به جليل رفتند و بر كوهی كه عيسی گفته بود، گرد آمدند.17وقتی عيسی را در آنجا ديدند، او را پرستش كردند، ولی بعضی از ايشان شک داشتند كه او همان عيسی باشد.18آنگاه عيسی جلو آمد و به ايشان فرمود: «تمام اختيارات آسمان و زمين به من داده شده است.19پس برويد و تمام قومها را شاگرد من سازيد و ايشان را به اسم پدر و پسر و روحالقدس غسل تعميد دهيد؛20و به ايشان تعليم دهيد كه تمام دستوراتی را كه به شما دادهام، اطاعت كنند. مطمئن باشيد هر جا كه برويد، حتی دورترين نقطه دنيا باشد، من هميشه همراه شما هستم!»
