1“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber.2But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.3To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.4When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.5A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”6This figure of speech Jesus used with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them.7So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.8All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.9I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.11I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.12He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them.13He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.14I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me,15just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.16And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.17For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again.18No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.”19There was again a division among the Jews because of these words.20Many of them said, “He has a demon, and is insane; why listen to him?”21Others said, “These are not the words of one who is oppressed by a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”
I and the Father Are One
22At that time the Feast of Dedication took place at Jerusalem. It was winter,23and Jesus was walking in the temple, in the colonnade of Solomon.24So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”25Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name bear witness about me,26but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep.27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.28I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.29My Father, who has given them to me,* is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.30I and the Father are one.”31The Jews picked up stones again to stone him.32Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you going to stone me?”33The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.”34Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said, you are gods’?35If he called them gods to whom the word of God came—and Scripture cannot be broken—36do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?37If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me;38but if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.”39Again they sought to arrest him, but he escaped from their hands.40He went away again across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing at first, and there he remained.41And many came to him. And they said, “John did no sign, but everything that John said about this man was true.”42And many believed in him there.

1«هر كه نخواهد از در به آغل گوسفندان داخل شود بلكه از روی ديوار به داخل بپرد، يقيناً دزد است.2زيرا شبان گوسفندان هميشه از در وارد میشود.3دربان نيز برای شبان در را میگشايد، گوسفندان صدای او را میشنوند و نزد او میآيند. شبان نام گوسفندان خود را يک به يک میخواند و آنها را بيرون میبرد.4او پيشاپيش گوسفندان حركت میكند و گوسفندان به دنبال او میروند، چون صدای او را میشناسند.5گوسفندان دنبال غريبه نمیروند، بلكه از او فرار میكنند، چون با صدای غريبهها آشنا نيستند.»6كسانی كه اين مَثَل را شنيدند، منظور عيسی را درک نكردند.7پس برای ايشان توضيح داد و فرمود: «مطمئن باشيد كه من آن دری هستم كه گوسفندان از آن وارد میشوند.8ديگران كه پيش از من آمدند، همه دزد و راهزن بودند. به همين جهت، گوسفندان واقعی به سخنان ايشان گوش ندادند.9بلی، من در هستم. كسانی كه از اين در وارد میشوند، نجات پيدا میكنند و در داخل و بيرون میگردند و چراگاه سبز و خرم میيابند.10كار دزد اينست كه بدزدد، بكشد و نابود كند؛ اما من آمدهام تا به شما حيات واقعی را به فراوانی عطا نمايم.11«من شبان خوب و دلسوزم. شبان خوب از جان خود میگذرد تا گوسفندان را از چنگال گرگها نجات دهد.12ولی كسی كه مزدور است و شبان نيست، وقتی میبيند گرگ میآيد، گوسفندان را گذاشته، فرار میكند، چون گوسفندان از آن او نيستند و او شبانشان نيست. آنگاه گرگ به گله میزند و گوسفندان را پراكنده میكند.13مزدور میگريزد، چون برای مزد كار میكند و به فكر گوسفندان نيست.14«من شبان خوب و مهربانم و گوسفندانم را میشناسم و آنها نيز مرا میشناسند.15درست همانطور كه پدرم مرا میشناسد و من او را میشناسم. من جان خود را در راه گوسفندان فدا میكنم.16من در آغلهای ديگر نيز گوسفندانی دارم؛ آنها را نيز بايد بياورم. آنگاه به صدای من توجه كرده، همه با هم يک گله خواهند شد و يک شبان خواهند داشت.17«پدرم مرا دوست دارد، چون من جانم را میدهم و باز پس میگيرم.18كسی نمیتواند به زور مرا بكشد، من داوطلبانه جانم را فدا میكنم. چون اختيار و قدرت اين را دارم كه هرگاه بخواهم، جانم را بدهم و باز پس بگيرم. پدرم اين اختيار را به من داده است.»19سران قوم وقتی اين سخنان را شنيدند، باز دربارهٔ او اختلاف نظر پيدا كردند.20بعضی گفتند: «اين مرد ديوانه است و عقل خود را از دست داده است. چرا به حرفهای او گوش میدهيد؟»21ديگران گفتند: «به نظر ديوانه نمیآيد. مگر ديوانه میتواند چشمان كور را باز كند؟»
يهوديان عيسی را به عنوان مسيح قبول نمیكنند
22زمستان بود و عيسی به هنگام جشن سالگرد بنای خانهٔ خدا در اورشليم بود و در«تالار سليمان» در خانهٔ خدا، قدم میزد.24سران قوم يهود دور او را گرفتند و پرسيدند: «تا به كی میخواهی ما را در شک و ترديد نگاه داری؟ اگر تو همان مسيح هستی، روشن و واضح به ما بگو.»25عيسی جواب داد: «من قبلاً به شما گفتم ولی باور نكرديد. معجزههايی كه به قدرت پدرم میكنم، ثابت میكند كه من مسيح هستم.26اما شما به من ايمان نمیآوريد، زيرا جزو گوسفندان من نيستيد.27گوسفندان من صدای مرا میشناسند، من نيز ايشان را میشناسم و آنها به دنبال من میآيند.28من به ايشان زندگی جاويد میبخشم تا هرگز هلاک نشوند. هيچكس نيز نمیتواند ايشان را از دست من بگيرد.29چون پدرم ايشان را به من داده است و او از همه قويتر است؛ هيچ انسانی نمیتواند ايشان را از پدرم بگيرد.30من و پدرم خدا يک هستيم.»31باز سران قوم سنگها برداشتند تا او را بكشند.32عيسی فرمود: «به امر خدا برای كمک به مردم، معجزههای بسيار كردهام. برای كدام يک از آن معجزهها میخواهيد مرا بكشيد؟»33جواب دادند: «ما به خاطر كفری كه میگويی میخواهيم تو را بكشيم، نه برای كارهای خوبت. چون تو يک انسانی ولی ادعای خدايی میكنی.»34عيسی جواب داد: «مگر در تورات شما نوشته نشده ”شما خدايان هستيد“؟ حال، اگر كتاب آسمانی كه غيرممكن است مطالب نادرستی در آن باشد، به كسانی كه پيغام خدا به ايشان رسيده است، میگويد كه خدايان هستند، آيا كفر است كسی كه خدا او را تقديس كرد و به جهان فرستاد، بگويد من فرزند خدا هستم؟37اگر معجزه نمیكنم، به من ايمان نياوريد.38ولی اگر میكنم و باز نمیتوانيد به خود من ايمان بياوريد، لااقل به معجزاتم ايمان آوريد تا بدانيد كه ”پدر“ در وجود من است و من در وجود او هستم.»39بار ديگر خواستند او را بگيرند ولی عيسی رفت و از آنان دور شد.40سپس به آن طرف رود اردن رفت، يعنی نزديک به جايی كه يحيی در آغاز مردم را غسل میداد.41در آنجا بسياری از مردم نزد او آمدند؛ ايشان به يكديگر میگفتند: «يحيی معجزهای نكرد ولی هر چه درباره اين شخص گفت درست درآمد.»42و بسياری به اين نتيجه رسيدند كه او همان مسيح است.
