1Ein Psalm und Lied Asafs, vorzusingen, nach der Weise »Vertilge nicht«.2Wir danken dir, Gott, wir danken dir und verkündigen deine Wunder, dass dein Name so nahe ist.3»Wenn meine Zeit gekommen ist, werde ich recht richten.4Die Erde mag wanken und alle, die darauf wohnen, aber ich halte ihre Säulen fest.« Sela.5Ich sprach zu den Ruhmredigen: Rühmt euch nicht so!, und zu den Frevlern: Brüstet euch nicht mit Macht!6Brüstet euch nicht so hoch mit eurer Macht, redet nicht so halsstarrig!7Denn es kommt nicht vom Aufgang und nicht vom Niedergang, nicht von der Wüste und nicht von den Bergen,8sondern Gott ist Richter, der diesen erniedrigt und jenen erhöht.9Denn der HERR hat einen Becher in der Hand, mit starkem Wein voll eingeschenkt. Er schenkt daraus ein, / und die Frevler auf Erden müssen alle trinken und auch noch die Hefe schlürfen.10Ich aber will verkündigen ewiglich und lobsingen dem Gott Jakobs.11Und ich will alle Gewalt der Frevler zerbrechen, dass die Gewalt des Gerechten erhöht werde.
