I hear a language I had not known:6“I relieved your* shoulder of the burden; your hands were freed from the basket.7In distress you called, and I delivered you; I answered you in the secret place of thunder; I tested you at the waters of Meribah.8Hear, O my people, while I admonish you! Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.11“But my people did not listen to my voice; Israel would not submit to me.12So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts, to follow their own counsels.13Oh, that my people would listen to me, that Israel would walk in my ways!14I would soon subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their foes.15Those who hate the Lord would cringe toward him, and their fate would last forever.16But he would feed you* with the finest of the wheat, and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.”

Jauchzt vor Freude über den Gott Jakobs!3Stimmt den Lobgesang an, schlagt die Tamburine, greift in die Saiten von Leier und Laute!4Blast das Horn zum Neumond, blast es wieder zum Vollmond, dem Tag unseres Festes!5Denn das ist eine Vorschrift für Israel, so hat es der Gott Jakobs befohlen.6Diese Regel gab er dem Volk Josefs, als er gegen die Ägypter kämpfte. Ich höre Worte, die ich so noch niemals hörte:7»Ich habe dir die Last von den Schultern genommen und den schweren Tragkorb aus den Händen.8Du hast zu mir geschrien in deiner Not und ich habe dich daraus befreit. Ich habe dir Antwort gegeben mitten aus der Gewitterwolke, in der ich mich verborgen hielt. An der Quelle von Meriba habe ich dein Vertrauen geprüft.9Mein Volk, hör mir zu, ich muss dich warnen! Wenn du doch auf mich hören wolltest, Israel!10Bei dir darf kein Platz sein für einen anderen Gott, vor keinem fremden Gott darfst du dich niederwerfen!11Ich bin der HERR, dein Gott, ich habe dich aus Ägypten herausgeführt. Mach deinen Mund weit auf, ich werde ihn füllen!12Aber mein Volk hat nicht auf mich gehört, Israel wollte nichts von mir wissen.13Darum überließ ich es seinem Starrsinn; es sollte seinen eigenen Wünschen folgen.14Wenn mein Volk doch auf mich hörte! Wenn Israel doch auf meinem Weg bliebe!15Wie schnell würde ich seine Feinde bezwingen und seine Unterdrücker niederwerfen!«16Alle, die den HERRN hassen, würden vor ihm kriechen müssen und ihre Zeit wäre für immer vorbei.17Doch Israel würde er mit bestem Weizen ernähren und mit Honig aus den Bergen sättigen.
