Psalm 148 | English Standard Version

Praise the Name of the Lord

1 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights! 2 Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his hosts! 3 Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars! 4 Praise him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens! 5 Let them praise the name of the Lord! For he commanded and they were created. 6 And he established them forever and ever; he gave a decree, and it shall not pass away.* 7 Praise the Lord from the earth, you great sea creatures and all deeps, 8 fire and hail, snow and mist, stormy wind fulfilling his word! 9 Mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars! 10 Beasts and all livestock, creeping things and flying birds! 11 Kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all rulers of the earth! 12 Young men and maidens together, old men and children! 13 Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his majesty is above earth and heaven. 14 He has raised up a horn for his people, praise for all his saints, for the people of Israel who are near to him. Praise the Lord!

1 Halleluja – Preist den HERRN! Preist den HERRN, alle seine Geschöpfe, preist ihn droben im Himmel! 2 Lobt ihn, alle seine Engel! Lobt ihn, ihr himmlischen Mächte! 3 Lobt ihn, Sonne und Mond! Lobt ihn, ihr leuchtenden Sterne! 4 Lobt ihn, ihr Weiten des Himmels und ihr Gewässer über dem Himmelsgewölbe! 5 Sie alle sollen den HERRN rühmen, denn sein Befehl rief sie ins Dasein. 6 Er stellte sie für immer an ihren Platz und setzte ihnen eine Ordnung, die sie niemals übertreten dürfen. 7 Preist den HERRN, alle seine Geschöpfe, preist ihn unten auf der Erde! Lobt ihn, ihr Ozeane, ihr Ungeheuer im Meer! 8 Lobt ihn, Blitze, Hagel, Schnee und Wolken, ihr Stürme, die ihr seinen Befehl ausführt! 9 Lobt ihn, ihr Berge und Hügel, ihr Obstbäume und Wälder! 10 Lobt ihn, wilde und zahme Tiere, ihr Vögel und alles Gewürm! 11 Lobt ihn, ihr Könige und alle Völker, ihr Fürsten und Mächtigen der Erde! 12 Lobt ihn, ihr Männer und Frauen, Alte und Junge miteinander! 13 Sie alle sollen den HERRN rühmen! Denn sein Name allein ist groß; der Glanz seiner Hoheit strahlt über Erde und Himmel. 14 Sein Volk Israel steht ihm nahe; durch ihn ist es groß und mächtig geworden. Darum bleibt es ihm treu und preist ihn! Preist den HERRN – Halleluja!
