Psalm 146 | English Standard Version

Put Not Your Trust in Princes

1 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! 2 I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. 3 Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. 4 When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish. 5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, 6 who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever; 7 who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free; 8 the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. 9 The Lord watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. 10 The Lord will reign forever, your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the Lord!

1 Halleluja – Preist den HERRN! Auf, mein Herz, preise den HERRN! 2 Ich will ihn loben mein Leben lang, meinem Gott will ich singen, solange ich atme! 3 Verlasst euch nicht auf Leute, die Macht und Einfluss haben! Sie sind auch nur Menschen und können euch nicht helfen. 4 Sie müssen sterben und zu Staub zerfallen und mit ihnen vergehen auch ihre Pläne. 5 Wie glücklich aber ist jeder, der den Gott Jakobs zum Helfer hat und auf ihn seine Hoffnung setzt, auf den HERRN, seinen Gott! 6 Der HERR hat die ganze Welt geschaffen: den Himmel, die Erde und das Meer, samt allen Geschöpfen, die dort leben. Seine Treue hat kein Ende, er steht zu seinem Wort: 7 Den Unterdrückten verschafft er Recht, den Hungernden gibt er zu essen, die Gefangenen macht er frei. 8 Die Blinden macht er sehend, die Verzweifelten richtet er auf. Er beschützt die Gäste und Fremden im Land und sorgt für die Witwen und Waisen. Der HERR liebt alle, die ihm die Treue halten, aber die Pläne der Treulosen vereitelt er. 10 Der HERR bleibt König für alle Zeiten! Zion, dein Gott wird herrschen von Generation zu Generation! Preist den HERRN – Halleluja!
