My Soul Longs for the Courts of the Lord

1 To the choirmaster: according to The Gittith.* A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! 2 My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God. 3 Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at your altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God. 4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house, ever singing your praise! 5 Blessed are those whose strength is in you, in whose heart are the highways to Zion.* 6 As they go through the Valley of Baca they make it a place of springs; the early rain also covers it with pools. 7 They go from strength to strength; each one appears before God in Zion. 8 O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob! 9 Behold our shield, O God; look on the face of your anointed! 10 For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness. 11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly. 12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the one who trusts in you!

1 万军之耶和华啊，你的居所多么美好！ 2 我深愿进入耶和华的院宇，我的身心向永活的上帝欢呼。 3 万军之耶和华，我的王我的上帝啊，在你的祭坛边，麻雀找到了家，燕子筑巢养育幼雏。 4 住在你殿里的人有福了！他们不断地歌颂你。（细拉） 5 靠你得力量、向往到锡安朝见你的人有福了！ 6 他们走过流泪谷，这谷就变成泉源之地，秋雨使谷中水塘遍布。 7 他们越走越有力，都要到锡安朝见上帝。 8 万军之上帝耶和华啊，求你听我的祷告；雅各的上帝啊，求你垂听。（细拉） 9 上帝啊，求你照看我们的盾牌，垂顾你所膏立的王。 10 在你的院宇住一日胜过在别处住千日！我宁愿在我上帝的殿中看门，也不愿住在恶人的帐篷里。 11 因为耶和华上帝是太阳，是盾牌；祂赐下恩惠和尊荣，不留下任何好处不赐给行为正直的人。 12 万军之耶和华啊，信靠你的人有福了！
