The Steadfast Love of God Endures

1 To the choirmaster. A Maskil* of David, when Doeg, the Edomite, came and told Saul, “David has come to the house of Ahimelech.” Why do you boast of evil, O mighty man? The steadfast love of God endures all the day. 2 Your tongue plots destruction, like a sharp razor, you worker of deceit. 3 You love evil more than good, and lying more than speaking what is right. 4 You love all words that devour, O deceitful tongue. 5 But God will break you down forever; he will snatch and tear you from your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living. 6 The righteous shall see and fear, and shall laugh at him, saying, 7 “See the man who would not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his riches and sought refuge in his own destruction!”* 8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever. 9 I will thank you forever, because you have done it. I will wait for your name, for it is good, in the presence of the godly.

1 勇士啊，你为何以作恶为荣？上帝的慈爱永远长存。 2 你这诡诈的人啊，舌头利如剃刀，尽是害人的奸计。 3 你喜爱邪恶，不爱良善；你喜爱虚谎，不爱真理。（细拉） 4 你有诡诈的舌头，好说恶言恶语。 5 上帝必永远毁灭你，祂必抓住你，把你从家里拉出来，从活人之地铲除。（细拉） 6 义人看见必心生敬畏，他们必嘲笑说： 7 “看啊，这就是不依靠上帝的人，他只倚仗自己的财富和以残暴手段获得的权势。” 8 我就像上帝殿中的一棵橄榄树，枝繁叶茂，我永永远远信靠上帝的慈爱。 9 上帝啊，我要永远赞美你的作为。我要在你忠心的子民面前仰望你美善的名。
