Blessed Are the Forgiven

1 A Maskil* of David. Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 2 Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. 3 For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. 4 For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up* as by the heat of summer. 5 I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. 6 Therefore let everyone who is godly offer prayer to you at a time when you may be found; surely in the rush of great waters, they shall not reach him. 7 You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance. 8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. 9 Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding, which must be curbed with bit and bridle, or it will not stay near you. 10 Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord. 11 Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

1 过犯得赦免、罪恶被饶恕的人有福了！ 2 心里没有诡诈、不被耶和华算为有罪的人有福了！ 3 我默然不语、拒绝认罪的时候，就因整日哀叹而身心疲惫。 4 你昼夜管教我，我的精力耗尽，如水在盛夏枯竭。（细拉） 5 我向你承认自己的罪，不再隐瞒自己的恶。我说：“我要向耶和华认罪。” 你就赦免了我。（细拉） 6 因此，趁着还能寻求你的时候，凡敬虔的人都当向你祷告；洪水泛滥时，就没有机会了。 7 你是我的藏身之所，你保护我免遭危难，用得胜的凯歌四面环绕我。（细拉） 8 耶和华说：“我要教导你，引领你走正路；我要劝导你，看顾你。 9 不要像无知的骡马，不用嚼环辔头就不驯服。” 10 恶人必多遭祸患，耶和华的慈爱必环绕信靠祂的人。 11 义人啊，你们要靠耶和华欢喜快乐；心地正直的人啊，你们都要欢呼。
