My Soul Thirsts for You

1 A Psalm of David. Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my pleas for mercy! In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness! 2 Enter not into judgment with your servant, for no one living is righteous before you. 3 For the enemy has pursued my soul; he has crushed my life to the ground; he has made me sit in darkness like those long dead. 4 Therefore my spirit faints within me; my heart within me is appalled. 5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all that you have done; I ponder the work of your hands. 6 I stretch out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. 7 Answer me quickly, O Lord! My spirit fails! Hide not your face from me, lest I be like those who go down to the pit. 8 Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. 9 Deliver me from my enemies, O Lord! I have fled to you for refuge.* 10 Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground! 11 For your name’s sake, O Lord, preserve my life! In your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble! 12 And in your steadfast love you will cut off my enemies, and you will destroy all the adversaries of my soul, for I am your servant.

1 耶和华啊，求你垂听我的祷告，倾听我的呼求，求你凭你的信实和公义应允我的祈求。 2 求你不要审判你的仆人，因为在你眼中没有一个义人。 3 敌人迫害我，打垮我，使我生活在黑暗中，像死去很久的人。 4 我心力交瘁，惊恐万分。 5 我想起遥远的过去，我思想你的一切作为，回想你所做的事。 6 我举手向你呼求，我的心渴慕你如同干旱之地渴慕甘霖。（细拉） 7 耶和华啊，求你快快应允我！我已绝望，求你不要掩面不顾我，不然我必和下坟墓的人无异。 8 求你让我在清晨就听见你的慈言爱语，因为我信靠你；求你指示我当走的路，因为我的心仰望你。 9 耶和华啊，求你救我脱离仇敌，我要到你那里寻求庇护。 10 求你教导我遵行你的旨意，因为你是我的上帝，愿你良善的灵引导我走平坦的路。 11 耶和华啊，求你为自己名的缘故拯救我，凭你的公义救我脱离患难。 12 求你铲除我的仇敌，因为你爱我。求你消灭一切迫害我的人，因为我是你的仆人。
