1Und der HERR redete zu Mose und sprach:2Rede mit der ganzen Gemeinde der Kinder Israels und sprich zu ihnen: Ihr sollt heilig sein, denn ich bin heilig, der HERR, euer Gott!3Ihr sollt jeder Ehrfurcht vor seiner Mutter und seinem Vater haben und meine Sabbate halten, denn ich, der HERR, bin euer Gott.4Ihr sollt euch nicht an die Götzen wenden und sollt euch keine gegossenen Götter machen, denn ich, der HERR, bin euer Gott.5Und wenn ihr dem HERRN ein Friedensopfer schlachten wollt, sollt ihr es so opfern, dass es euch wohlgefällig macht.6Es soll aber an dem Tag gegessen werden, an dem ihr es opfert, und am folgenden Tag; was aber bis zum dritten Tag übrig bleibt, das soll mit Feuer verbrannt werden.7Wenn aber dennoch am dritten Tag davon gegessen wird, so ist es ein Gräuel und wird nicht als wohlgefällig angenommen werden;8und wer davon isst, wird seine Schuld tragen, weil er das entheiligt hat, was dem HERRN heilig ist, und eine solche Seele soll ausgerottet werden aus ihrem Volk.9Wenn ihr die Ernte eures Landes einbringt, sollst du den Rand deines Feldes nicht vollständig abernten und keine Nachlese nach deiner Ernte halten.10Auch sollst du nicht Nachlese halten in deinem Weinberg, noch die abgefallenen Beeren deines Weinberges auflesen, sondern du sollst es dem Armen und dem Fremdling lassen; denn ich, der HERR, bin euer Gott.11Ihr sollt nicht stehlen und nicht lügen noch einander betrügen!12Ihr sollt nicht falsch schwören bei meinem Namen, sodass du den Namen deines Gottes entheiligst! Ich bin der HERR.13Du sollst deinen Nächsten weder bedrücken noch berauben. Der Lohn des Taglöhners soll nicht über Nacht bei dir bleiben bis zum Morgen.14Du sollst dem Tauben nicht fluchen und dem Blinden keinen Anstoß in den Weg legen, sondern du sollst dich fürchten vor deinem Gott; ich bin der HERR!15Ihr sollt keine Ungerechtigkeit begehen im Gericht; du sollst weder die Person des Geringen ansehen noch die Person des Großen ehren; sondern du sollst deinen Nächsten gerecht richten.16Du sollst nicht als Verleumder umhergehen unter deinem Volk! Du sollst auch nicht auftreten gegen das Blut deines Nächsten!* Ich bin der HERR.17Du sollst deinen Bruder nicht hassen in deinem Herzen; sondern du sollst deinen Nächsten ernstlich zurechtweisen, dass du nicht seinetwegen Schuld tragen musst!18Du sollst nicht Rache üben, noch Groll behalten gegen die Kinder deines Volkes, sondern du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben wie dich selbst! Ich bin der HERR.19Meine Satzungen sollt ihr halten. Bei deinem Vieh sollst du nicht zweierlei Arten sich paaren lassen und dein Feld nicht mit zweierlei Samen besäen, und es soll kein Gewand auf deinen Leib kommen, das aus zweierlei Garn gewoben ist.20Wenn ein Mann bei einer Frau liegt und ihr beiwohnt, und sie ist eine Dienstmagd und einem Mann verlobt, doch nicht losgekauft, und die Freiheit ist ihr nicht geschenkt, so soll eine Bestrafung stattfinden, aber sie sollen nicht sterben; denn sie ist nicht frei gewesen.21Er soll aber sein Schuldopfer dem HERRN vor den Eingang der Stiftshütte bringen, einen Widder als Schuldopfer.22Und der Priester soll ihm Sühnung erwirken mit dem Widder des Schuldopfers vor dem HERRN wegen der Sünde, die er begangen hat; so wird ihm wegen seiner Sünde, die er getan hat, vergeben werden.23Wenn ihr in das Land kommt und allerlei Bäume pflanzt, von denen man isst, sollt ihr die [ersten] Früchte derselben als Unbeschnittenheit betrachten; drei Jahre lang sollt ihr sie für unbeschnitten achten, sie dürfen nicht gegessen werden;24im vierten Jahr aber sollen alle ihre Früchte heilig sein zu einer Jubelfeier für den HERRN;25erst im fünften Jahr sollt ihr die Früchte essen, damit der Ertrag für euch umso größer wird; ich, der HERR, bin euer Gott.26Ihr sollt nichts mit Blut essen. Ihr sollt weder Wahrsagerei noch Zauberei treiben.27Ihr sollt den Rand eures Haupthaares nicht rundum abschneiden, auch sollst du den Rand deines Bartes nicht beschädigen.28Ihr sollt keine Einschnitte an eurem Leib machen für eine [abgeschiedene] Seele, und ihr sollt euch keine Zeichen einätzen! Ich bin der HERR.29Du sollst deine Tochter nicht entweihen, indem du sie zur Unzucht anhältst, damit das Land nicht Unzucht treibt und voller Schandtaten wird!30Haltet meine Sabbattage und fürchtet mein Heiligtum! Ich bin der HERR.31Ihr sollt euch nicht an die Geisterbefrager wenden, noch an die Wahrsager; ihr sollt sie nicht aufsuchen, um euch an ihnen zu verunreinigen; denn ich, der HERR, bin euer Gott.32Vor einem grauen Haupt sollst du aufstehen und die Person eines Alten ehren; und du sollst dich fürchten vor deinem Gott! Ich bin der HERR.33Wenn ein Fremdling bei dir in eurem Land wohnen wird, so sollt ihr ihn nicht bedrücken.34Der Fremdling, der sich bei euch aufhält, soll euch gelten, als wäre er bei euch geboren, und du sollst ihn lieben wie dich selbst; denn ihr seid auch Fremdlinge gewesen im Land Ägypten. The Lord Is Holy
1And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,2“Speak to all the congregation of the people of Israel and say to them, You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy.3Every one of you shall revere his mother and his father, and you shall keep my Sabbaths: I am the Lord your God.4Do not turn to idols or make for yourselves any gods of cast metal: I am the Lord your God.5“When you offer a sacrifice of peace offerings to the Lord, you shall offer it so that you may be accepted.6It shall be eaten the same day you offer it or on the day after, and anything left over until the third day shall be burned up with fire.7If it is eaten at all on the third day, it is tainted; it will not be accepted,8and everyone who eats it shall bear his iniquity, because he has profaned what is holy to the Lord, and that person shall be cut off from his people.
Love Your Neighbor as Yourself
9“When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap your field right up to its edge, neither shall you gather the gleanings after your harvest.10And you shall not strip your vineyard bare, neither shall you gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard. You shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am the Lord your God.11“You shall not steal; you shall not deal falsely; you shall not lie to one another.12You shall not swear by my name falsely, and so profane the name of your God: I am the Lord.13“You shall not oppress your neighbor or rob him. The wages of a hired worker shall not remain with you all night until the morning.14You shall not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block before the blind, but you shall fear your God: I am the Lord.15“You shall do no injustice in court. You shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great, but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbor.16You shall not go around as a slanderer among your people, and you shall not stand up against the life* of your neighbor: I am the Lord.17“You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason frankly with your neighbor, lest you incur sin because of him.18You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.
You Shall Keep My Statutes
19“You shall keep my statutes. You shall not let your cattle breed with a different kind. You shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor shall you wear a garment of cloth made of two kinds of material.20“If a man lies sexually with a woman who is a slave, assigned to another man and not yet ransomed or given her freedom, a distinction shall be made. They shall not be put to death, because she was not free;21but he shall bring his compensation to the Lord, to the entrance of the tent of meeting, a ram for a guilt offering.22And the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the guilt offering before the Lord for his sin that he has committed, and he shall be forgiven for the sin that he has committed.23“When you come into the land and plant any kind of tree for food, then you shall regard its fruit as forbidden.* Three years it shall be forbidden to you; it must not be eaten.24And in the fourth year all its fruit shall be holy, an offering of praise to the Lord.25But in the fifth year you may eat of its fruit, to increase its yield for you: I am the Lord your God.26“You shall not eat any flesh with the blood in it. You shall not interpret omens or tell fortunes.27You shall not round off the hair on your temples or mar the edges of your beard.28You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves: I am the Lord.29“Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, lest the land fall into prostitution and the land become full of depravity.30You shall keep my Sabbaths and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord.31“Do not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.32“You shall stand up before the gray head and honor the face of an old man, and you shall fear your God: I am the Lord.33“When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong.34You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.35“You shall do no wrong in judgment, in measures of length or weight or quantity.36You shall have just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin:* I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.37And you shall observe all my statutes and all my rules, and do them: I am the Lord.”
