Psalm 87 | New International Version

Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm. A song.

1 He has founded his city on the holy mountain.

2 The Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the other dwellings of Jacob.

3 Glorious things are said of you, city of God:*

4 ‘I will record Rahab* and Babylon among those who acknowledge me – Philistia too, and Tyre, along with Cush* – and will say, “This one was born in Zion.” ’*

5 Indeed, of Zion it will be said, ‘This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High himself will establish her.’

6 The Lord will write in the register of the peoples: ‘This one was born in Zion.’

7 As they make music they will sing, ‘All my fountains are in you.’

Hoffnung für alle

Zion, Gottes geliebte Stadt

1 Ein Lied von den Nachkommen Korachs. Hoch auf dem heiligen Berg hat Gott die Stadt Zion errichtet.

2 Er liebt Jerusalem mit seinen herrlichen Toren mehr als alle anderen Orte, in denen die Nachkommen von Jakob wohnen.

3 Du bist weltberühmt, du Stadt Gottes! Der Herr sagt:

4 »In Ägypten und Babylon gibt es Menschen, die mich kennen und ehren, und auch bei den Philistern, in Tyrus und Äthiopien findet man Bürger meiner Stadt.«*

5 Aber von Jerusalem selbst heißt es: »Alle seine Einwohner haben hier ihr Bürgerrecht!«* Ja, er, der Höchste, lässt Zion fest bestehen!

6 Der HERR wird eine Liste aller Völker aufstellen und darin jeden vermerken, der zu Jerusalem gehört.*

7 Sie alle werden tanzen und fröhlich singen: »Was wir haben, verdanken wir dieser Stadt!«
