1Ihr sollt keine Götzen machen; ein Götterbild und eine Säule sollt ihr euch nicht aufrichten, auch keinen Stein mit Bildwerk in eurem Land aufstellen, dass ihr euch davor niederwerft; denn ich, der HERR, bin euer Gott.2Haltet meine Sabbate und fürchtet mein Heiligtum; ich bin der HERR!3Wenn ihr nun in meinen Satzungen wandelt und meine Gebote befolgt und sie tut,4so will ich euch Regen geben zu seiner Zeit, und das Land soll seinen Ertrag geben, und die Bäume auf dem Feld sollen ihre Früchte bringen.5Und die Dreschzeit wird bei euch reichen bis zur Weinlese, und die Weinlese bis zur Saatzeit, und ihr werdet euch von eurem Brot satt essen und sollt sicher wohnen in eurem Land.6Denn ich will Frieden geben im Land, dass ihr ruhig schlaft und euch niemand erschreckt. Ich will auch die bösen Tiere aus eurem Land vertreiben, und es soll kein Schwert über euer Land kommen.7Ihr werdet eure Feinde jagen, dass sie vor euch her durchs Schwert fallen;8fünf von euch werden hundert jagen, und hundert von euch werden zehntausend jagen; und eure Feinde werden vor euch her durchs Schwert fallen.9Und ich will mich zu euch wenden und euch fruchtbar machen und mehren und meinen Bund mit euch aufrechthalten.10Und ihr werdet von dem Vorjährigen essen und das Vorjährige wegen des Neuen wegtun müssen.11Ich will meine Wohnung in eure Mitte setzen, und meine Seele soll euch nicht verabscheuen;12und ich will in eurer Mitte wandeln und euer Gott sein, und ihr sollt mein Volk sein.13Ich, der HERR, bin euer Gott, der ich euch aus dem Land Ägypten herausgeführt habe, damit ihr nicht mehr ihre Knechte sein solltet; und ich habe die Stangen eures Joches zerbrochen und euch aufrecht gehen lassen.
Ungehorsam bringt Fluch
14Wenn ihr mir aber nicht gehorcht und alle diese Gebote nicht tut,15und wenn ihr meine Satzungen missachtet und eure Seele meine Rechtsbestimmungen verabscheut, dass ihr nicht alle meine Gebote tut, sondern meinen Bund brecht,16so will auch ich euch dies tun: Ich will Schrecken, Schwindsucht und Fieberhitze über euch verhängen, sodass die Augen matt werden und die Seele verschmachtet. Ihr werdet euren Samen vergeblich aussäen, denn eure Feinde sollen [das Gesäte] essen.17Und ich will mein Angesicht gegen euch richten, dass ihr vor euren Feinden geschlagen werdet; und die euch hassen, sollen über euch herrschen, und ihr werdet fliehen, obwohl euch niemand jagt.18Wenn ihr mir aber auch dann noch nicht gehorcht, so will ich euch noch siebenmal mehr bestrafen um eurer Sünden willen,19und ich will euren harten Stolz brechen. Ich will euch den Himmel machen wie Eisen und die Erde wie Erz,20dass eure Kraft sich vergeblich verbraucht und euer Land seinen Ertrag nicht gibt und die Bäume des Landes ihre Früchte nicht bringen.21Wenn ihr euch mir aber noch weiter widersetzt und mir nicht gehorchen wollt, so will ich euch noch siebenmal mehr schlagen, entsprechend euren Sünden.22Und ich will wilde Tiere unter euch senden, die sollen euch eurer Kinder berauben und euer Vieh ausrotten und eure Zahl mindern, und eure Straßen sollen öde werden.23Wenn ihr euch aber dadurch noch nicht von mir züchtigen lasst, sondern euch mir widersetzt,24so will auch ich mich euch widersetzen und euch siebenfach schlagen um eurer Sünden willen.25Und ich will das Schwert über euch kommen lassen, das die Bundesrache* vollzieht! Und wenn ihr euch dann in eure Städte zurückzieht, will ich die Pest unter euch senden und euch in die Hand eurer Feinde geben.26Wenn ich euch den Stab des Brotes zerbreche, dann werden zehn Frauen euer Brot in einem Ofen backen, und man wird euch das Brot nach dem Gewicht zuteilen; und ihr werdet es essen, aber nicht satt werden.27Wenn ihr euch aber auch dadurch noch nicht zum Gehorsam gegen mich bringen lasst, sondern euch mir widersetzt,28so will ich mich auch euch im Grimm widersetzen, ja, ich werde euch siebenfach strafen um eurer Sünden willen,29und ihr werdet das Fleisch eurer Söhne und das Fleisch eurer Töchter verzehren.30Und ich will eure Höhen* vertilgen und eure Sonnensäulen abhauen und eure Leichname auf die Leichname eurer Götzen werfen, und meine Seele wird euch verabscheuen.31Und ich will eure Städte zu Ruinen machen und eure heiligen Stätten verwüsten und euren lieblichen Geruch nicht mehr riechen.32Und ich will das Land verwüsten, sodass eure Feinde, die darin wohnen werden, sich davor entsetzen sollen.33Euch aber will ich unter die Heidenvölker* zerstreuen und das Schwert hinter euch her ziehen, sodass euer Land zur Wüste wird und eure Städte zu Ruinen.34Dann wird das Land seine Sabbate genießen, solange es verwüstet liegt und ihr im Land eurer Feinde seid. Ja, dann wird das Land ruhen und seine Sabbate genießen dürfen.35Solange es verwüstet liegt, wird es ruhen, weil es nicht ruhen konnte an euren Sabbaten, als ihr darin wohntet.36Und den Übriggebliebenen von euch will ich das Herz verzagt machen in den Ländern ihrer Feinde, sodass das Rascheln eines verwehten Blattes sie jagen wird; und sie werden davonfliehen, als jage sie ein Schwert, und fallen, ohne dass sie jemand verfolgt.37Und sie sollen einer über den anderen fallen wie vor dem Schwert, obgleich sie niemand jagt; und ihr werdet vor euren Feinden nicht standhalten können,38sondern ihr werdet unter den Heidenvölkern umkommen, und das Land eurer Feinde wird euch fressen.39Und die Übriggebliebenen von euch, die sollen wegen ihrer Schuld dahinschwinden in den Ländern eurer Feinde; und auch wegen der Schuld ihrer Väter sollen sie mit ihnen dahinschwinden.
Verheißung von Gnade und Wiederherstellung für Israel
40Dann werden sie ihre Schuld und die Schuld ihrer Väter bekennen samt ihrer Untreue, die sie gegen mich begangen haben, und dass sie sich mir widersetzten,41weswegen auch ich mich ihnen widersetzte und sie in das Land ihrer Feinde brachte. Und wenn sich dann ihr unbeschnittenes Herz demütigt, sodass sie dann ihre Schuld annehmen,42so will ich an meinen Bund mit Jakob gedenken, und auch an meinen Bund mit Isaak und auch an meinen Bund mit Abraham, und ich will an das Land gedenken.43Aber das Land wird von ihnen verlassen sein, um seine Sabbate zu genießen, indem es ohne sie verwüstet liegt; sie aber werden ihre Schuld büßen, eben deshalb, weil sie meine Rechtsbestimmungen missachtet haben und ihre Seele meine Satzungen verabscheut hat.44Jedoch, auch wenn sie im Land der Feinde sein werden, so will ich sie nicht so verwerfen und sie nicht so verabscheuen, dass ich ein Ende mit ihnen mache oder meinen Bund mit ihnen breche; denn ich, der HERR, bin ihr Gott.45Und ich will zu ihren Gunsten an meinen ersten Bund gedenken, als ich sie aus dem Land Ägypten herausführte vor den Augen der Heidenvölker, um ihr Gott zu sein.
