1Da sprach Elisa: Hört das Wort des HERRN! So spricht der HERR: Morgen um diese Zeit wird im Tor von Samaria ein Maß Feinmehl einen Schekel gelten und zwei Maß Gerste einen Schekel!2Da antwortete der Offizier, auf dessen Arm sich der König stützte, dem Mann Gottes und sprach: Siehe, selbst wenn der HERR Fenster am Himmel machte, wie könnte dies geschehen? Er aber sprach: Siehe, du wirst es mit eigenen Augen sehen, aber nicht davon essen!3Es waren aber vier aussätzige Männer am Eingang des Tores, und einer sprach zum anderen: Weshalb bleiben wir hier, bis wir sterben?4Wenn wir sprächen: Wir wollen in die Stadt gehen, wo doch Hungersnot in der Stadt herrscht, so müssten wir dort sterben; bleiben wir aber hier, so müssen wir auch sterben! So kommt nun, wir wollen zum Heer der Aramäer überlaufen! Lassen sie uns leben, so leben wir, töten sie uns, so sind wir tot!5Und sie machten sich in der Dämmerung auf, um in das Lager der Aramäer zu gehen. Als sie nun an den Rand des Lagers der Aramäer kamen, siehe, da war kein Mensch da!6Denn der Herr hatte das Heer der Aramäer ein Getöse von Streitwagen hören lassen, auch ein Getümmel von Pferden und ein Geschrei einer großen Heeresmacht, sodass sie untereinander sprachen: Siehe, der König von Israel hat die Könige der Hetiter und die Könige der Ägypter gegen uns angeworben, damit sie uns überfallen sollen!7Und sie machten sich auf und flohen in der Dämmerung und ließen ihre Zelte zurück und ihre Pferde und ihre Esel, das Lager, wie es stand, und flohen, um ihr Leben zu retten.8Als nun jene Aussätzigen an den Rand des Lagers kamen, gingen sie in ein Zelt und aßen und tranken; und sie nahmen Silber, Gold und Kleider daraus mit und gingen hin und verbargen es. Und sie kamen wieder und gingen in ein anderes Zelt und plünderten es aus, gingen fort und verbargen es.9Aber einer sprach zum anderen: Wir handeln nicht recht. Dieser Tag ist ein Tag guter Botschaft; wenn wir schweigen und warten, bis es heller Morgen wird, so wird uns Strafe treffen. So kommt nun, wir wollen gehen und es dem Haus des Königs melden!10Und sie kamen und riefen dem Torhüter der Stadt und verkündeten es ihnen und sprachen: Wir sind zum Lager der Aramäer gekommen, und siehe, es ist niemand da, und man hört auch keinen Menschen, sondern nur Pferde und Esel; die sind angebunden, und die Zelte, wie sie waren!11Und er rief die Torhüter, und man berichtete es drinnen im Haus des Königs.12Und der König stand in der Nacht auf und sprach zu seinen Knechten: Ich will euch doch sagen, was die Aramäer mit uns vorhaben: Sie wissen, dass wir Hunger leiden, und sind aus dem Lager gegangen, um sich im Feld zu verbergen, und denken: Wenn die aus der Stadt gehen, wollen wir sie lebendig fangen und in die Stadt eindringen!13Da antwortete einer seiner Knechte und sprach: Man nehme doch fünf von den übrig gebliebenen Pferden, die noch da sind — siehe, es geht ihnen doch wie der ganzen Menge Israels, die darin übrig geblieben ist; siehe, es geht ihnen wie der ganzen Menge Israels, welche aufgerieben ist —, die lasst uns senden und dann schauen!14Da nahmen sie zwei Gespanne Pferde, und der König sandte sie dem Heer der Aramäer nach und sprach: Geht hin und seht nach!15Als sie ihnen nun bis an den Jordan nachzogen, siehe, da lagen alle Wege voll Kleider und Waffen, welche die Aramäer auf ihrer eiligen Flucht von sich geworfen hatten. Und die Boten kamen wieder und sagten es dem König.16Da ging das Volk hinaus und plünderte das Lager der Aramäer, sodass ein Maß Feinmehl einen Silberling galt und zwei Maß Gerste auch einen Silberling, nach dem Wort des HERRN.17Und der König bestellte den Offizier, auf dessen Arm er sich stützte, [zur Aufsicht] über das Tor; und das Volk zertrat ihn im Tor, sodass er starb, wie der Mann Gottes gesagt hatte, der es [voraus]gesagt hatte, als der König zu ihm hinabkam.18Denn es geschah, wie der Mann Gottes dem König gesagt hatte, als er sprach: Morgen um diese Zeit werden im Tor von Samaria zwei Maß Gerste einen Silberling gelten und ein Maß Feinmehl einen Silberling!,19worauf der Offizier dem Mann Gottes geantwortet hatte: Ja, siehe, selbst wenn der HERR Fenster am Himmel machte, wie könnte dies geschehen? 1Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.2Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.3And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?4If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.5And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there.6For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.7Wherefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it was , and fled for their life.8And when these lepers came to the uttermost part of the camp, they went into one tent, and did eat and drink, and carried thence silver, and gold, and raiment, and went and hid it ; and came again, and entered into another tent, and carried thence also , and went and hid it .9Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king' household.10So they came and called unto the porter of the city: and they told them, saying, We came to the camp of the Syrians, and, behold, there was no man there, neither voice of man, but horses tied, and asses tied, and the tents as they were .11And he called the porters; and they told it to the king' house within.12And the king arose in the night, and said unto his servants, I will now shew you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we be hungry; therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and get into the city.13And one of his servants answered and said, Let some take, I pray thee, five of the horses that remain, which are left in the city, (behold, they are as all the multitude of Israel that are left in it: behold, I say , they are even as all the multitude of the Israelites that are consumed:) and let us send and see.14They took therefore two chariot horses; and the king sent after the host of the Syrians, saying, Go and see.15And they went after them unto Jordan: and, lo, all the way was full of garments and vessels, which the Syrians had cast away in their haste. And the messengers returned, and told the king.16And the people went out, and spoiled the tents of the Syrians. So a measure of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the LORD.17And the king appointed the lord on whose hand he leaned to have the charge of the gate: and the people trode upon him in the gate, and he died, as the man of God had said, who spake when the king came down to him.18And it came to pass as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, Two measures of barley for a shekel, and a measure of fine flour for a shekel, shall be to morrow about this time in the gate of Samaria:19And that lord answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold, if the LORD should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.20And so it fell out unto him: for the people trode upon him in the gate, and he died.
