سال بخشيدن قرضها

1 در پايان هر هفت سال، بايد تمام قرضهای بدهكاران خود را ببخشيد. 2 هر كه از برادر يهودی خود طلبی داشته باشد بايد آن طلب را لغو نمايد. او نبايد در صدد پس گرفتن طلبش باشد، زيرا خود خداوند اين طلب را لغو نموده است. 3 ولی اين قانون شامل حال بدهكاران غيريهودی نمیشود. 4 اگر به دقت، تمام دستورات خداوند، خدايتان را اطاعت كنيد و اوامری را كه امروز به شما میدهم اجرا نماييد در سرزمينی كه خداوند به شما میدهد بركت زيادی خواهيد يافت، به طوری که فقيری در ميانتان نخواهد بود. 6 او چنانكه وعده داده است بركتتان خواهد داد، به طوری كه به قومهای زيادی پول قرض خواهيد داد، ولی هرگز احتياجی به قرض گرفتن نخواهيد داشت. بر قومهای بسياری حكومت خواهيد كرد، ولی آنان بر شما حكومت نخواهند نمود. 7 وقتی به سرزمينی كه خداوند به شما میدهد وارد شديد، اگر در بين شما اشخاص فقيری باشند نسبت به آنان دست و دل باز باشيد، 8 و هر قدر احتياج دارند به ايشان قرض بدهيد. 9 اين فكر پليد را به خود راه ندهيد كه سال الغای قرض بزودی فرا میرسد و در نتيجه از دادن قرض خودداری كنيد؛ زيرا اگر از دادن قرض خودداری كنيد و مرد محتاج پيش خداوند ناله كند اين عمل برای شما گناه محسوب خواهد شد. 10 بايد آنچه نياز دارد، از صميم قلب به او بدهيد و خداوند هم به خاطر اين امر، شما را در هر كاری بركت خواهد داد. 11 در ميان شما هميشه فقير وجود خواهد داشت به همين دليل است كه اجرای اين فرمان ضروری است. شما بايد با سخاوت به آنها قرض بدهيد.

رفتار با غلامان

12 هرگاه غلامی عبرانی بخريد، چه مرد باشد چه زن، بايد پس از شش سال خدمت، در سال هفتم او را آزاد نماييد. 13 او را دست خالی روانه نكنيد، 14 بلكه هديهای از گله و غله و شراب مطابق بركتی كه خداوند، خدايتان به شما بخشيده است به وی بدهيد. 15 به خاطر بياوريد كه در سرزمين مصر بَرده بوديد و خداوند، خدايتان شما را نجات داد. به همين دليل است كه امروز اين فرمان را به شما میدهم. 16 ولی اگر غلام عبرانی شما نخواهد برود و بگويد شما و خانوادهتان را دوست دارد و از بودن در خانهٔ شما لذت میبرد، 17 آنگاه او را به دم در برده با درفشی گوشش را سوراخ كنيد تا از آن پس، هميشه غلام شما باشد. همين كار را با كنيزان خود بكنيد. 18 اما وقتی كه بردهای را آزاد میكنيد نبايد ناراحت شويد، چون او در طی شش سال برای شما كمتر از نصف دستمزد يک كارگر عادی خرج برداشته است. خداوند، خدايتان برای اينكه او را آزاد ساختهايد شما را در هر كاری بركت خواهد داد.

نخستزادههای گاو و گوسفند

19 بايد تمامی نخستزادههای نر گلهها و رمههايتان را برای خداوند وقف كنيد. از نخستزادههای رمههايتان جهت كار كردن در مزارع خود استفاده نكنيد و پشم نخستزادههای گلههای گوسفندتان را قيچی نكنيد. 20 به جای آن، شما و خانوادهتان هر ساله گوشت اين حيوانات را در حضور خداوند، خدايتان در محلی كه او تعيين خواهد كرد بخوريد. 21 ولی اگر حيوان نخستزاده معيوب باشد، مثلاً لنگ يا كور بوده، يا عيب ديگری داشته باشد، نبايد آن را برای خداوند، خدايتان قربانی كنيد. 22 در عوض از آن برای خوراک خانوادهٔ خود در منزل استفاده كنيد. هر كس میتواند آن را بخورد، حتی اگر شرعاً نجس باشد، درست همانطور كه غزال يا آهو را میخورد؛ 23 ولی خون آن را نخوريد، بلكه آن را مثل آب بر زمين بريزيد.

The year for cancelling debts

1 At the end of every seven years you must cancel debts. 2 This is how it is to be done: every creditor shall cancel any loan they have made to a fellow Israelite. They shall not require payment from anyone among their own people, because the Lord’s time for cancelling debts has been proclaimed. 3 You may require payment from a foreigner, but you must cancel any debt your fellow Israelite owes you. 4 However, there need be no poor people among you, for in the land the Lord your God is giving you to possess as your inheritance, he will richly bless you, 5 if only you fully obey the Lord your God and are careful to follow all these commands I am giving you today. 6 For the Lord your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you. 7 If anyone is poor among your fellow Israelites in any of the towns of the land that the Lord your God is giving you, do not be hard-hearted or tight-fisted towards them. 8 Rather, be open-handed and freely lend them whatever they need. 9 Be careful not to harbour this wicked thought: ‘The seventh year, the year for cancelling debts, is near,’ so that you do not show ill will towards the needy among your fellow Israelites and give them nothing. They may then appeal to the Lord against you, and you will be found guilty of sin. 10 Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to. 11 There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be open-handed towards your fellow Israelites who are poor and needy in your land.

Freeing servants

12 If any of your people – Hebrew men or women – sell themselves to you and serve you for six years, in the seventh year you must let them go free. 13 And when you release them, do not send them away empty-handed. 14 Supply them liberally from your flock, your threshing-floor and your winepress. Give to them as the Lord your God has blessed you. 15 Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and the Lord your God redeemed you. That is why I give you this command today. 16 But if your servant says to you, ‘I do not want to leave you,’ because he loves you and your family and is well off with you, 17 then take an awl and push it through his ear lobe into the door, and he will become your servant for life. Do the same for your female servant. 18 Do not consider it a hardship to set your servant free, because their service to you these six years has been worth twice as much as that of a hired hand. And the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do.

The firstborn animals

19 Set apart for the Lord your God every firstborn male of your herds and flocks. Do not put the firstborn of your oxen to work, and do not shear the firstborn of your sheep. 20 Each year you and your family are to eat them in the presence of the Lord your God at the place he will choose. 21 If an animal has a defect, is lame or blind, or has any serious flaw, you must not sacrifice it to the Lord your God. 22 You are to eat it in your own towns. Both the ceremonially unclean and the clean may eat it, as if it were gazelle or deer. 23 But you must not eat the blood; pour it out on the ground like water.
