Die Berufung der Kunsthandwerker

1 Jahwe sagte zu Mose: 2 „Pass auf! Ich habe Bezalel Ben-Uri, den Enkel von Hur aus dem Stamm Juda, berufen 3 und ihn mit dem Geist Gottes erfüllt, mit Weisheit und Verstand und kunsthandwerklichem Geschick. 4 Er kann Pläne entwerfen und danach Gegenstände aus Gold, Silber und Bronze anfertigen. 5 Er kann Edelsteine schneiden und einfassen, er versteht sich auf Holzschnitzerei und ist in jeder künstlerischen Technik erfahren. 6 Ich habe ihm Oholiab Ben-Ahisamach aus dem Stamm Dan zur Seite gestellt. Dazu habe ich alle kunstbegabten Handwerker befähigt, alles herzustellen, was ich angeordnet habe: 7 das Offenbarungszelt, die Bundeslade und die Deckplatte darauf und alle Gegenstände, die zum Zelt gehören; 8 dazu den Tisch mit seinen Gegenständen, den Leuchter aus reinem Gold und alles, was dazugehört, den Räucheraltar, 9 den Brandopferaltar und alles, was dazugehört, das Becken und sein Gestell, 10 die Dienstkleider und die heiligen Gewänder für Aaron und die Priesterkleider für seine Söhne, 11 das Salböl und die Weihrauchmischung für das Heiligtum. Sie sollen alles genauso machen, wie ich es dir befohlen habe.“

Das Sabbatgebot

12 Jahwe sagte zu Mose: 13 „Du sollst den Israeliten einschärfen, dass sie nur ja meine Sabbate halten. Denn sie sind ein Zeichen für den Bund zwischen mir und euch, auch für alle späteren Generationen. Daran soll man erkennen, dass ich Jahwe bin, der euch heiligt. 14 Haltet also den Sabbat! Ja, als heilig soll er euch gelten! Jeder, der an diesem Tag eine Arbeit verrichtet, soll von der Gemeinschaft des Volkes beseitigt werden. 15 Sechs Tage in der Woche soll man arbeiten, aber am siebten Tag ist Sabbat, ein Tag völliger Ruhe, der Jahwe gehört. Jeder, der am Sabbat arbeitet, muss unbedingt getötet werden. 16 Die Israeliten sollen also den Sabbat halten. Und auch all ihre Nachkommen sollen ihn als ewigen Bund feiern. 17 Er ist ein Zeichen des Bundes zwischen mir und den Israeliten für immer. Denn in sechs Tagen hat Jahwe Himmel und Erde gemacht. Am siebten Tag jedoch hat er geruht und Atem geschöpft.“ 18 Als Jahwe Mose auf dem Berg Sinai alles gesagt hatte, übergab er ihm die beiden Tafeln, die mit dem Finger Gottes beschrieben waren, als Urkunde.

Bezalel and Oholiab

1 Then the LORD spoke to Moses. 2 He said, ‘I have chosen Bezalel, the son of Uri. Uri is the son of Hur. Bezalel is from the tribe of Judah. 3 I have filled him with the Spirit of God. I have filled Bezalel with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skill. 4 He can make beautiful patterns in gold, silver and bronze. 5 He can cut and set stones. He can work with wood. In fact, he can work in all kinds of crafts. 6 I have also appointed Oholiab, the son of Ahisamak, to help him. Oholiab is from the tribe of Dan. ‘I have given ability to all the skilled workers. They can make everything I have commanded you to make. Here is the complete list. 7 ‘the tent of meeting the ark where the tablets of the covenant law are kept the cover for the ark 8 the table for the holy bread and its things the pure gold lampstand and everything used with it the altar for burning incense 9 the altar for burnt offerings and all its tools the large bowl with its stand 10 the sacred clothes for Aaron the priest and the clothes for his sons when they serve as priests 11 the anointing oil and the sweet-smelling incense for the Holy Room ‘The skilled workers must make them just as I commanded you.’

The Sabbath day

12 Then the LORD spoke to Moses. 13 He said, ‘Tell the people of Israel, “You must always keep my Sabbath days. That will be the sign of the covenant I have made between me and you for all time to come. Then you will know that I am the LORD. I am the one who makes you holy. 14 ‘ “Keep the Sabbath day. It is holy to you. Those who misuse it must be put to death. Those who do any work on that day must be separated from their people. 15 Do your work in six days. But the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest. You must rest on it. It is set apart for the LORD. Those who work on the Sabbath day must be put to death. 16 The Israelites must keep the Sabbath day. They must celebrate it for all time to come. It will be a covenant that lasts for ever. 17 It will be the sign of the covenant I have made between me and the Israelites for ever. The LORD made the heavens and the earth in six days. But on the seventh day he did not work. He rested.” ’ 18 The LORD finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai. Then he gave him the two tablets of the covenant law. They were made out of stone. The words on them were written by the finger of God.
