Der Brandopferaltar

1 »Lass einen Altar aus Akazienholz anfertigen; er soll quadratisch sein: zweieinhalb Meter lang und ebenso breit. Die Höhe beträgt eineinhalb Meter. 2 An den vier oberen Ecken sollen Hörner hervorragen. Die Hörner dürfen nicht aufgesetzt, sondern müssen Teil der Seitenwände sein. Der ganze Altar soll mit Bronze überzogen werden. 3 Auch die dazugehörigen Gefäße und Werkzeuge müssen aus Bronze sein: die Aschenkübel, Schaufeln, Fleischgabeln, Feuerbecken und Schalen zum Auffangen des Blutes. 4 Lass einen Gitterrahmen aus Bronze anfertigen und bring an den vier Ecken je einen Ring aus Bronze an. 5 Der Gitterrahmen soll unter dem Altar befestigt werden können und ihn ringsum bis zur halben Höhe umschließen. 6 Dazu müssen noch Akazienholzstangen angefertigt werden, die mit Bronze überzogen sind. 7 Die Stangen sollen für den Transport durch die Ringe an beiden Seiten des Altars gesteckt werden. 8 Der Altar soll aus Brettern zusammengesetzt werden und innen hohl sein. Die Handwerker müssen ihn genau so bauen, wie ich es dir hier auf dem Berg zeige.«

Der Vorhof

9 »Um das heilige Zelt herum soll ein Vorhof abgegrenzt werden. Die Abgrenzung an der Südseite muss 50 Meter lang sein und aus Vorhängen von feinem Leinen bestehen. 10 Die Vorhänge werden mit silbernen Haken und Stangen an 20 Holzpfosten befestigt, die auf Bronzesockeln stehen. 11 Die Abgrenzung auf der Nordseite soll ebenfalls 50 Meter lang sein; sie besteht aus den gleichen Vorhängen, die mit silbernen Haken und Stangen an 20 Holzpfosten mit Bronzesockeln hängen. 12 An der Westseite des Vorhofs sollen auf einer Breite von 25 Metern die Vorhänge an 10 Holzpfosten hängen, deren Sockel aus Bronze bestehen. 13 Auch auf der Ostseite, in Richtung Sonnenaufgang, soll der Vorhof 25 Meter breit sein. 14 An dieser Seite befindet sich sein Eingang. Links und rechts vom Eingang hängen Vorhänge auf einer Breite von je 7,5 Metern an jeweils drei Holzpfosten auf Bronzesockeln. Vor dem Eingang ist ebenfalls ein Vorhang angebracht, 10 Meter breit, bunt und kunstvoll gewebt aus violetter, purpurroter und karmesinroter Wolle und feinem Leinen. Ihn halten vier Holzpfosten auf Bronzesockeln. 17 Alle Pfosten stehen auf Sockeln aus Bronze, und die Vorhänge sind mit silbernen Haken und Stangen an den Pfosten befestigt. 18 Die Länge des Vorhofs beträgt 50 Meter, seine Breite 25 Meter. Die Vorhänge sind 2,5 Meter hoch, als Vorhangstoff soll feines Leinen verwendet werden. Die Sockel der Pfosten müssen aus Bronze sein. 19 Alle Gefäße und Werkzeuge für den Dienst im heiligen Zelt sollen aus Bronze hergestellt sein, auch die Pflöcke für das heilige Zelt und für die Vorhänge des Vorhofs.«

Das Öl für den Leuchter

20 »Sag den Israeliten, sie sollen dir reines Olivenöl von bester Qualität für den Leuchter bringen, damit die Lampen ständig brennen. 21 Im heiligen Zelt, vor dem Vorhang zum Allerheiligsten und der Bundeslade, müssen Aaron und seine Söhne den Leuchter aufstellen. Sie sollen immer wieder Öl nachfüllen, damit er vom Abend bis zum Morgen brennt und mein Heiligtum erhellt. Diese Weisung gilt für euch und alle kommenden Generationen!«

The altar of burnt offering

1 ‘Build an altar of acacia wood, three cubits* high; it is to be square, five cubits long and five cubits wide.* 2 Make a horn at each of the four corners, so that the horns and the altar are of one piece, and overlay the altar with bronze. 3 Make all its utensils of bronze – its pots to remove the ashes, and its shovels, sprinkling bowls, meat forks and firepans. 4 Make a grating for it, a bronze network, and make a bronze ring at each of the four corners of the network. 5 Put it under the ledge of the altar so that it is halfway up the altar. 6 Make poles of acacia wood for the altar and overlay them with bronze. 7 The poles are to be inserted into the rings so they will be on two sides of the altar when it is carried. 8 Make the altar hollow, out of boards. It is to be made just as you were shown on the mountain.

The courtyard

9 ‘Make a courtyard for the tabernacle. The south side shall be a hundred cubits* long and is to have curtains of finely twisted linen, 10 with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases and with silver hooks and bands on the posts. 11 The north side shall also be a hundred cubits long and is to have curtains, with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases and with silver hooks and bands on the posts. 12 ‘The west end of the courtyard shall be fifty cubits* wide and have curtains, with ten posts and ten bases. 13 On the east end, towards the sunrise, the courtyard shall also be fifty cubits wide. 14 Curtains fifteen cubits* long are to be on one side of the entrance, with three posts and three bases, 15 and curtains fifteen cubits long are to be on the other side, with three posts and three bases. 16 ‘For the entrance to the courtyard, provide a curtain twenty cubits* long, of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen – the work of an embroiderer – with four posts and four bases. 17 All the posts around the courtyard are to have silver bands and hooks, and bronze bases. 18 The courtyard shall be a hundred cubits long and fifty cubits wide,* with curtains of finely twisted linen five cubits* high, and with bronze bases. 19 All the other articles used in the service of the tabernacle, whatever their function, including all the tent pegs for it and those for the courtyard, are to be of bronze.

Oil for the lampstand

20 ‘Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning. 21 In the tent of meeting, outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law, Aaron and his sons are to keep the lamps burning before the Lord from evening till morning. This is to be a lasting ordinance among the Israelites for the generations to come.
