Salutación

1 Pablo, un apóstol de Jesús el Mesías por voluntad de Dios, y el hermano Timoteo, 2 a los santos y fieles hermanos en el Mesías que están en Colosas: Gracia y paz a vosotros, de Dios nuestro Padre.

La herencia de los santos

3 Damos gracias al Dios, el Padre de nuestro Señor Jesús, el Mesías, orando siempre por vosotros, 4 habiendo oído de vuestra fe en Jesús el Mesías, y el amor que tenéis hacia todos los santos, 5 a causa de la esperanza que os está reservada en los cielos, la cual supisteis antes por la palabra de la verdad del evangelio, 6 el cual ha llegado a vosotros, y así en todo el mundo está llevando fruto y creciendo como también en vosotros, desde el día que oísteis y conocisteis plenamente la gracia de Dios en verdad; 7 según lo aprendisteis de Epafras, nuestro consiervo amado, quien es fiel ministro del Mesías para vosotros, 8 el cual también nos declaró vuestro amor en el Espíritu. 9 Por esto también nosotros, desde el día que lo oímos, no cesamos de orar por vosotros, y de pedir que seáis llenos del pleno conocimiento de su voluntad, en toda sabiduría y discernimiento espiritual; 10 para que andéis como es digno del Señor, con el fin de agradarle en todo, dando fruto en toda buena obra y creciendo en el pleno conocimiento de Dios; 11 fortalecidos con todo poder, conforme a la potencia de su gloria, para toda paciencia y longanimidad; 12 con gozo dando gracias al Padre que os hizo aptos para participar de la herencia de los santos en la luz; 13 quien nos rescató de la potestad de las tinieblas, y nos trasladó al reino del Hijo de su amor, 14 en quien tenemos la redención, el perdón de los pecados.

Supremacía del Mesías

15 Él es la imagen del Dios invisible, el primogénito de toda creación, 16 porque en Él fueron creadas todas las cosas, en los cielos y en la tierra, visibles e invisibles: tronos, dominios, principados, potestades; todo fue creado por Él y para Él, 17 y Él es antes de todas las cosas, y todo subsiste en Él, 18 y Él es la cabeza del cuerpo, de la iglesia. Él es el principio, el primogénito de los muertos, para que en todo tenga Él la preeminencia, 19 por cuanto plugo que la plenitud de todo habitara en Él, 20 y por medio de Él reconciliar consigo mismo todas las cosas, así las que están en la tierra como las que están en los cielos, haciendo la paz por medio de Él, por la sangre de su cruz. 21 Y a vosotros, que en otro tiempo erais extraños y enemigos, por tener la mente ocupada en las malas obras, 22 aun así, ahora os reconcilió en su cuerpo de carne por medio de la muerte, para presentaros santos y sin mancha e irreprensibles delante de Él, 23 ya que en verdad permanecéis fundamentados en la fe, y firmes y sin moveros de la esperanza del evangelio que habéis oído, el cual ha sido proclamado en toda la creación que está debajo del cielo, del cual yo, Pablo, llegué a ser ministro.

La esperanza de gloria

24 Ahora me regocijo en los sufrimientos por vosotros, y completo en mi carne lo que faltaba de las aflicciones del Mesías por su cuerpo, que es la iglesia; 25 de la cual yo llegué a ser ministro, según la administración de Dios que me fue dada para con vosotros, a fin de que proclame plenamente la palabra de Dios; 26 el misterio oculto desde los siglos y edades, pero ahora manifestado a sus santos, 27 a quienes quiso Dios dar a conocer cuál es la riqueza de la gloria de este misterio entre los gentiles, que es el Mesías en vosotros, la esperanza de gloria; 28 a quien nosotros anunciamos, amonestando a todo hombre, y enseñando a todo hombre con toda sabiduría, para presentar a todo hombre perfecto en el Mesías; 29 en lo cual también me fatigo, luchando conforme a su potencia, la cual actúa poderosamente en mí.

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother, 2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, 4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints, 5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; 6 Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth: 7 As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ; 8 Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit. 9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; 12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; 20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. 21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: 23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; 24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church: 25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; 26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: 28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: 29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.
