Psalm 78:8

English Standard Version

8 and that they should not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation whose heart was not steadfast, whose spirit was not faithful to God. (Ex 32:9; Ex 33:3; De 9:7; De 9:24; De 31:27; 2Ki 17:14; 2Ch 30:7; Job 11:13; Ps 78:37; Jer 5:23; Eze 20:18) 

New International Version

8 They would not be like their ancestors – a stubborn and rebellious generation, whose hearts were not loyal to God, whose spirits were not faithful to him. 

New International Reader’s Version

8 They would not be like their people who lived long ago. Those people were stubborn. They refused to obey God. They turned away from him. Their spirits were not faithful to him. 

King James Version

8 And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.
