Psalm 116:3

English Standard Version

3 The snares of death encompassed me; the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me; I suffered distress and anguish. (Ps 18:4) 

New International Version

3 The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow. 

New International Reader’s Version

3 The ropes of death were wrapped around me. The horrors of the grave came over me. I was overcome by sadness and sorrow. 

King James Version

3 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.
