Nehemiah 11:23

English Standard Version

23 For there was a command from the king concerning them, and a fixed provision for the singers, as every day required. (2Ch 31:16; Ezr 6:8; Ezr 7:20; Ne 12:47) 

New International Version

23 The musicians were under the king’s orders, which regulated their daily activity. 

New International Reader’s Version

23 The musicians received their orders from the Persian king. He told them what they should do every day. 

King James Version

23 For it was the king' commandment concerning them, that a certain portion should be for the singers, due for every day.
