7 “Woe to the world for temptations to sin![1] For it is necessary that temptations come, but woe to the one by whom the temptation comes! (Mt 13:41; Mt 26:24; Lu 17:1; 1Co 11:19)

7 Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come! 

New International Reader’s Version

7 How terrible it will be for the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Things like that must come. But how terrible for the person who causes them! 

King James Version

7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
