26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. (1Sa 24:6; Ps 89:48; Lu 9:20; Lu 23:35; Joh 8:51; Ac 2:27; Heb 11:5) 

New International Version

26 It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. 

New International Reader’s Version

26 The Spirit had told Simeon that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. 

King James Version

26 And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.
