Judges 7:24

English Standard Version

24 Gideon sent messengers throughout all the hill country of Ephraim, saying, “Come down against the Midianites and capture the waters against them, as far as Beth-barah, and also the Jordan.” So all the men of Ephraim were called out, and they captured the waters as far as Beth-barah, and also the Jordan. (Jos 24:33; Jud 3:28; Jud 6:35) 

New International Version

24 Gideon sent messengers throughout the hill country of Ephraim, saying, ‘Come down against the Midianites and seize the waters of the Jordan ahead of them as far as Beth Barah.’ So all the men of Ephraim were called out and they seized the waters of the Jordan as far as Beth Barah. 

New International Reader’s Version

24 Gideon sent messengers through the entire hill country of Ephraim. They said, ‘Come on down against the Midianites. Take control of the waters of the River Jordan before they get there. Do it all the way to Beth Barah.’ So all the men of Ephraim were called out. They took control of the waters of the Jordan all the way to Beth Barah. 

King James Version

24 And Gideon sent messengers throughout all mount Ephraim, saying, Come down against the Midianites, and take before them the waters unto Bethbarah and Jordan. Then all the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and took the waters unto Bethbarah and Jordan.
