14 It was Caiaphas who had advised the Jews that it would be expedient that one man should die for the people. (Joh 11:50) 

New International Version

14 Caiaphas was the one who had advised the Jewish leaders that it would be good if one man died for the people.

14 Caiaphas had advised the Jewish leaders that it would be good if one man died for the people. 

King James Version

14 Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
