Jeremiah 16:7

English Standard Version

7 No one shall break bread for the mourner, to comfort him for the dead, nor shall anyone give him the cup of consolation to drink for his father or his mother. (De 26:14; Isa 58:7; Eze 24:17; Ho 9:4) 

New International Version

7 No-one will offer food to comfort those who mourn for the dead – not even for a father or a mother – nor will anyone give them a drink to console them. 

New International Reader’s Version

7 No one will offer food or drink to comfort those who mourn for the dead. No one will do this even if someone’s father or mother has died. 

King James Version

7 Neither shall men tear themselves for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother.
