Isaiah 7:2

English Standard Version

2 When the house of David was told, “Syria is in league with[1] Ephraim,” the heart of Ahaz[2] and the heart of his people shook as the trees of the forest shake before the wind. (Isa 8:12; Isa 9:9) 

New International Version

2 Now the house of David was told, ‘Aram has allied itself with[1] Ephraim’; so the hearts of Ahaz and his people were shaken, as the trees of the forest are shaken by the wind. 

New International Reader’s Version

2 The royal family of Ahaz was told, ‘The army of Aram has joined forces with Ephraim’s army.’ So the hearts of Ahaz and his people trembled with fear. They shook just as trees in the forest shake when the wind blows through them. 

King James Version

2 And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind.
