Isaiah 1:23

English Standard Version

23 Your princes are rebels and companions of thieves. Everyone loves a bribe and runs after gifts. They do not bring justice to the fatherless, and the widow’s cause does not come to them. (Ex 23:8; Isa 1:17; Jer 5:28; Mic 7:3; Zec 7:10) 

New International Version

23 Your rulers are rebels, partners with thieves; they all love bribes and chase after gifts. They do not defend the cause of the fatherless; the widow’s case does not come before them. 

New International Reader’s Version

23 Your rulers refuse to obey the LORD. They join forces with robbers. All of them love to accept money from those who want special favours. They are always looking for gifts from other people. They don’t stand up in court for children whose fathers have died. They don’t do it for widows either. 

King James Version

23 Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.
